Not sure what the link is, but you can go to the local newspapers website and watch several other highlight videos featuring future VOL QB Tyler Bray, and I must say he looks quite impressive! I cant wait to see what he looks like after CLK and staff get him running the Vol offense!!! Go Vols!!!!

More than anything else, notice how he LOOKS OFF the safeties and pump fakes, THEN throws the long ball. He's already better than Crompton.

I agree. Crompton seems to have the arm, but can't seem to look off the safties or pump fake effectively. This is why I am excited for Bray to get here and compete for the starting job.

Yes. I don't understand why people think he won't start next year. He is clearly going to be a better quarterback than Crompton (if he isn't already), and since Crompton is best we have (meaning Stephens must be unspeakably horrible), I don't know why Bray wouldn't be the favorite to start next year. He's enrolling early, and Kiffin has been expressing how much he wants to get his players into his system.

To clarify, I didn't say that he would necessarily start next year, I meant he just apparently has a more natural ability than Crompton/Stephens. I think there will still be a steep learning curve to play efficiently in the SEC. The last thing we need is for him to go out, perform poorly, and get crucified by our rabid fans who are sick of watching poor QB play.

I would rather him come out and perform poorly and gain experience than have Stephens come out and play poorly while Bray watches. I don't expect him to come out and throw for 300 yds every game. In the early games of next season, I think Kiffin could also use a similar gameplan like the one we are using now, and gradually increase his quarterbacking responsibilities. He could at least do the job that Crompton is doing now.

With Bray on campus in January, I hope he is starting in the fall or we are in big trouble.

Remember that Crompton has beat out Nick!

Tyler went 9 of 14 for 206 yds & 4 TD's 1 Int Tonight.

He also had a beautiful 8 yd QB keeper with somersault into the endzone that was called back because of holding.

He didn't get a lot of snaps tonight because the game got out of hand quickly. the 3rd string QB even got snaps.

After looking at his stats, the wr Dylan Newbill who caught 3 TD passes from Bray going for 54yds, 58 yds and 17 yds could be someone to bring with him

I hope the defenses Bray sees out there are all loaded with extremely fast D-1 talent so he isn't shell shocked by the speed of the SEC. I must say though, I have a sneaking suspicion that, even if he does start next year, the QB position will still be a work in progress next year. However, with that said, I don't see it being worse than our current situation but it's rare that a freshman can come in and perform at a high level.

Lets all pause for a word of prayer that this kid will be as good as we all hope he'll be.

I will say that the level of competition although good, it's not top tier. Washinton Union had a lot of speed and a very good team in the Central Section.

One could easily transplant him into the QB position at D-1 school in the area and he would be putting up similar numbers against the powerhouses, and there is some excellant high school football teams in the Central Section.

Surely the speed at all positions will be something he has to adjust to, but knowing and having coached him, it will be something he will pick up on quickly. He is a true 'gamer' and a very very smart athelete. That is what seperates him from many others with just the atheletic skills.

I love Dylan. He is a great kid and has grown tremendously atheletically since coming to Kingsburg. But as much as he makes big plays he simply drops too many passes. I am not knocking DN, he would probably even agree. He needs a little more football toughness. I think Dylan has a lot of upside and potenial, but I don't think he is SEC, PAC 10, or Big 12 material.

I think a perfect fit for Dylan might be follow London (our ohter QB) up to UC-Davis or another lower D1 or D2 school.

Did you read my post? I wasn't referring to this game - just all of his games in general - which haven't been blow outs I believe.

Why so touchy? Your view doesn't change the fact that I want them to run the score up on teams so he can sit. He has nothing to prove at this point.

You're right - just let him sit on the bench 3/4ths of his senior year (since he already splits time with another guy) - that would be awesome!

It's football - no point in playing scared. He needs the reps if he wants to see the field next year (which I hope he doesn't which would hopefully mean we take a JUCO QB).

But awesome for whom?

FWIW, I prefer a QB who's a competitor who *always* wants to play... as long as he's actually *good*, of course. Then I want a *coach* who'll sit him when the risk is greater than the reward.

I don't want a QB that doesn't want to play...

(The odds are real good Bray is coming here in large part because he knows (and likely has been *told*) he has a very good chance of playing, even as a frosh, if he gets up to speed in time...)

Tyler will start from day one. He will be as good as Barkley if not better.
