You're pathetic. Give the kid his due, he played a great game.

Uncalled for. I am admitting that he played a great game. I just think it is stupid to give him an SEC award like this when he didn't do it against an SEC team. Hence, I don't care.

It's uncalled for to rag on him for playing a great game. I stand by my original statement

To be fair, Bray broke Manning's single game passing record, and that record happen to be set against Kentucky. To say Bray's game didn't matter bc of the opponent is to say Manning's doesn't count either...unless you think Kentucky is a legitimate SEC defense

How many years ago was that Manning record set? Using 'logic', since TN's defense is not worth a dime this year, it never has been worth a dime.

You are really dense if you think I was ragging on him. You clearly don't have the ability to read analytically. I'm done talking to you.

So instead of saying congrats, you say "It was Troy". So that isn't ragging on him? Since it was Troy it wasn't good?

97. I'm not arguing UT's D, just that 530 yards, 5 TDs, 0 INTs is a game that deserves recognition. It was an awful game for the D, statistically the worst ever, but I choose to look at the positive

Because most teams that play Troy can win with a few fieldgoals and ball control.

SamRebel...I really have little disagreement with most of your posts on this thread...but not on this one.

Troy has played 9 games, and won 4, so ALL of their remaining losses should be by teams that just needed a "few field goals and ball control." It takes at least 5 opponents to make your statement of "most" true.

Here are the five games that apparently Troy's opponents could win in that fashion:

Tennessee - 7 points (55-48)
Florida Atlantic - 7 points (34 - 27)
W. Kentucky - 5 points (31-26)
Miss. State - 6 points (30-24)
Louisana Lafayette - 13 points (37-24)

Actually, I don't think any of their opponents could win with field goals and ball control. To make your comment accurate, you should change "most" to "none of the"....

Do you even know what ragging means??? I swear it is like arguing with a 4 year old. Listen, it was a good game. Nobody would argue that. I'm just saying that I could give two shats about an SEC award when it was against one of the worst opponents on our schedule!!! Get your head out of your doop chute you repugnant shrew.

I think you are mistakenly being placed into the category of Bray Haters, which are numerous on this board.

You are simply explaining the context of the game, in your opinion. If Troy had not put up the numbers against our inept defense, Bray would not have put up the numbers he had to in order to win the game. At some point we would have shut down the offense and run some clock. I actually think we did that a little bit when we got up 28-10. Dooley and Co looked like they thought we had the game won, but they were clearly wrong.

Exactly. Additionally, I think the SEC POW awards should go to players that played in an SEC game. I have always thought it was ridiculous for a guy to rack up ridiculous stats against a bottom feeder and be named SEC POW.

I am a Bray supporter. However, I do not think he is the best QB that has ever played at UT (it was Manning). Many on this board either hate him or think he is the best ever. He is clearly a talented QB and one of our best players.

I agree 100% on the SEC POW. It should be STRICTLY reserved for play between SEC teams.

This, in no way, would retract from Bray's accomplishments, but it would put some restrictions on the winners.

I can appreciate your looking at the positive. What I was after was what kind of defense KY had back then. I really don't know.

I remember that game and it was a slug fest going back & forth. Kentucky had Tim Couch as their QB, who by the way was almost in TN Orange, and he stood toe to toe with Manning. They scored a bunch of points that day and after the game everybody was dead tired and glad that it was over with.

Kentucky was 5-6 that year and won two conference games: Vanderbilt (of course) and a 4-7 Alabama team. Alabama wasn't very good back then (the good ole days).

Kentucky allowed 33 points and 392 yards per game.

If you could give two shats, why are you posting in the thread trying to diminish his accomplishment? All I said was give the kid his due. Which you are not doing by down playing it just cause it was against Troy.

Also, your comments were uncalled for :) since you didn't like me talking about you. Btw I will apologize for me calling you pathetic.

I honestly don't know either. I just assumed KY had an awful defense, which has been a safe assumption all 24 years of my life
