Don't know what the picture is trying to infer but T Bray is definitely going make it in the NFL. If not with the Chiefs, then with another team. Tyler was never the person that some make him to be . He is a solid person with a good future ahead of him. He did make a mistake in the off season, but he gave it his all as a VOL when he played. Not sure why all the hate towards him. Good luck T

Tyler Bray's biggest problem was not throwing beer bottles. It was only an issue he had to overcome. The real problem was his choice of coaches. He could not overcome that.

Awful lot of smoke about attitude problems and VERY public pot use for there not to be any fire(no pun intended). Yes I understand that there was not an attitude of winning created by the coaching staff, but lets not pretend like TB was any sort of leader or good example during his time on the HILL.

flip, TB had an attitude problem. Among his immature antics was was his being for himself and his stats and not the team. Even a rabid Vols players loyalist like me had to admit he was an africanus asinus. But the good thing is he seems to be really growing up after the humiliation of being undrafted.

OrangebyBirth: "Tyler Bray's biggest problem was not throwing beer bottles. It was only an issue he had to overcome. The real problem was his choice of coaches. He could not overcome that."

Can't argue with the core fact of your post. However, I'd remind you that TB didn't pick DD, he picked Kiffin. In TB's favor if you'll recall, he not only refused to leave when Orgeron made those clandestine phone calls to get players recruited on the UT's dime to leave. He criticized the behavior and said something about the lack of integrity of the coach for doing that. But people often forget quickly the good you do, and cling bulldoggishly to any real or imagined wrong you do.

You mean those crazy numbers he put up with NFL receivers he was surrounded with was a mistake?

The 2012 offense wasn't the problem.

The running game was awful. Pitiful. Sorry. Awful. Non existent.........

UT averaged 160 ypg on the ground in 2012. Granted, some of that was helped by Patterson on reverses, but the running game wasn't that bad.

In 2011, it was non-existant. Just horrible.

Did we even have running backs that year? Oh crap, now I remember. It was Matt Simms lol

With Justin Houston (Georgia) holding out, Brandon Flowers just being released as a cap hit, and the Chiefs up against the cap, many here in KC are starting to believe that Chase Daniel and his big salary will be the odd man out. I think Bray survives because the chiefs need that money to extend Alex Smith. They want to get the deal done before he enters his final year if his contract this fall.

If some of the rumors were true about the way he acted while he was a VOL especially the one about him and Da Rick basically throwing the Kentucky game because they didn't want to play in a crap bowl game. It would be hard to say he gave his all.

I think a good portion of Tyler Bray immaturity problems was the result of not having a coach many of the players could truly respect. The number one thing a head coach has to be is a leader and a mentor. Dooley might have been good at talking it, but I believe he had glaring faults that you might not notice as a fan, but for his players, it indirectly affects player's attitudes and efforts.

It isn't something that most would notice, but since Bray is beginning to grow in ways now that should have been happening at Tennessee, I can't help feeling someone on the Chief's staff is making progress that Dooley missed.

I think this is one of many things we mean when we say, "Butch gets it."

And this is why he is my least liked QB to ever put on an orange jersey. After I heard this I just wanted him to go away. I would have taken a Matt Simms that wanted to win over a cry baby like TB 100 times out of 100.

Bray hardly gave his all against Kentucky; flu or not. He gave up.

And I saw countless temper tantrums on the sidelines and in the huddle. At times he was a loner. He was a divisive influence on the team. Some were with him, some were against him. No leadership skills to pull the team together as a QB.

He could throw the ball but he could not deal with mental pressure.

As an NFLer, he may make it. As a UT Vol. he was a complete idiot and was as responsible as any other single Vol for the atrocious record in his time here. A real turd frankly.

He has an opportunity in the NFL. I did worry about his ability to read the D, but he did have some skills. This is much more than most. Wish him the best.

In 2012, the team likely averaged 30 pts / game. That is not an offense issue, but a 'make the opposing RB look like a rock star' defense issue.

Exactly. He had the misfortune of spending his entire career being coached by the most incompetent buffoon to ever walk an SEC sideline. To those who knock him for his leadership, what do you really expect when the daily example being set for Bray by his head coach was one of exactly zero accountability and the constant throwing of anyone (particularly his players) under the bus in an effort to cover his own incompetence?

I've seen players coached by people with a lot worse character flaws than Dooley not make a total douche of themselves(Matt Barkley comes to mind). Bray was a grown man being given about 70,000 a year in room, board and education. Least he could have done was keep it halfway classy.

KC needs to get some WR help or none of the QBs will be able to do anything. Not drafting a WR was puzzling, especially after losing McCluster.

I'd say he makes it as the backup and Murray as the 3rd string QB which means Chase Daniel is going to be out. I think KC will want the cap room and there is no need in paying big money to a 2nd stringer if the 3rd stringer and the guy you just drafted can get the job done. I'd say they might go get a good or serviceable WR from FA.

I'm willing to bet if he does become an NFL star the ones hating on the kid in this thread will be the first people clamoring about how he's a VFL etc etc...

I've said it before and I'll say it again, an NFL playoff team with a QB who hasn't missed a game except week 17 as a week off doesn't carry 3 QBs all season and into the playoffs on the main roster. That's either saying that the Chiefs are dumb or that Bray deserved to be there. He might not play for the Chiefs, but there are other teams that will be better with him on the roster as well.

That's his parents, they're excited by this news.

If it weren't for Butch Jones pretty much telling Bray to take a hike he would have gotten us into a lot of trouble for taking cash while playing at UT.
