Other than the Pick-6, how many tackles did Simms miss last night? I think it was only 1 all night.
48 points isn't going to get it done, 13 points isn't going to get it done. it was a team loss and I have to agree with GoVolsxtra.com who rated our QB play a B-. He managed the game well, threw 1 bad ball, stared down some receivers, but was our best option at this point in the year.
Give it a rest, Simms is with us until at least the Alabama game.
if simms doesn't do well enough to get us a W against Flordia , i think bray might start the UAB game. especially if simms throws more pick 6's.
We lose one game and "the backup QB is our guy" geniuses start cackling. Bray will eventually be better, but Oregon probably would have chewed him up and spit him out tonight. I will defer to our coaching staff's evaluations instead of these armchair QBs.Simms did NOT do well for his first big game...He was horrible..Pick 6 that people would have skewered Crompton /Ainge for and about 4 jumpball completions...
Guys...He a JUNIOR...
No bashing here, but down 14 and losing momentum fast that mght have been the time to showcase Bray for a few snaps..
We'll see..
I agree, Bray will start at some point this year. I'm not sure he is ready though. Simms is holding the ball waaaaay too long. By the time he throws to an open man the defense has already caught up. If Simms doesn't improve Bray will get his chance. I just hope he is ready by then.
Please Dooley, start Bray next game. Simms is not going to get it done. Bray is the future. Give him a chance; he has much, much more upside than Simms. I will be very disappointed if Dooley doesn't give Bray the nod next week.
Maybe I'm just naive enough to believe that the coaching staff actually knows more about who the better quarterback is than the posters on Volnation. If Bray were the better option, he'd be the starter. I don't think he's mentally or physically ready, and I understand the possibility that the coaching staff is concerned about destroying his confidence by throwing him to the SEC wolves too soon.
