Tyler Bray. A Vols first?

Completely disagree. I like the optimism, but you really need to look at the schedule before you make a prediction like this. We play on the road at Bama, UF, and Oregon in 2013. All three of those schools have had better recruiting classes than us overall the past 3 years. We would be lucky to only lose two of those games, which would more than likely put any one of our players out of the Heisman race. Regardless, it will be extremely hard not to lose less than 3 games that year.

People really need to tone down their expectations. It's unrealistic for any of our players to win the Heisman that year. DaRick is more than likely gone after next year, who knows about the other three, I expect Bray and CP will be back.

Edit: I stand corrected. Oregon is still on for 2013. Sometimes people are just dumb, and this is one of those moments for me.....pssst, thanks for the psst!

you all seriously vastly overrate the qb's and the wr's you have.

they are good football players. they are not the father, the son, and the holy spirit

They healthy one was all-SEC on an O with no run game and no other viable weapons. Also he had a QB that has twice in his career been benched in favor of a true freshman.

The other reciever was on track to put up bigger numbers than the one who made all SEC.

Our QB put up better stats across the board than 70% of college QBs and that was missing 5 games and with no running game.

Hope you and your team think we are giving them too much credit, they have the potential to scourch any team in the SEC for 300 yds and 4 scores combined any saturday if the proper respect isnt payed to them the week prior and saturday.

74-132 56% comp 1,055 yards 4 tds 1 int

75-152 49% comp 943 yards 6 tds 6 int

these are the stat lines in the 2011 season against sec teams for john brantley and tyler bray.

i'll let you guess which stat line belongs to which qb. before anyone gets all huffy......

both qb's missed the alabama and lsu games (or significant amounts of them)
both played hurt
both played behind crappy offensive lines.
both had terrible running games
both did not have justin hunter to throw to

Hold the phone there buddy, not everyone thinks they are divine.

It can be said however, that having two potential first round NFL wideouts healthy will make our offense significantly better and thus the team more competitive. If everyone stays healthy, and that's a BIG if, then the team should compete with everyone in the conference. You of all people should know what talented skill players can do for a team. Demps, Rainey, Tebow ring a bell? Not saying that UT will produce like Florida did with those guys, but if healthy, we are a threat for the east crown IMO.

Back to the argument at hand....If those guys are healthy, then Bray could be a darkhorse for the Heisman, and possibly a front runner the year after if he WINS, and he STAYS for another year.

Isn't there a :machgun: GatorBoard somewhere that you should be spreading your :snoring: "insight" :snoring: on instead of here?

Winning, yes. Being invited, who knows.

How many people can name (without looking it up) who was invited to this year's and last year's presentations? Not many, I'd bet.

I didn't look it up and didn't even read any further in the thread and here is my list of players that were invited to the Heisman Presentation:

RG3
Trent Richardson
Andrew Luck
Monte Ball
"The Honey Badger"

How'd I do? :hi:

Bray is a very good QB, but he is also very inconsistent. He has, thus far, been reluctant to put in the work to take him from good to great. He hasn't beaten anybody important, and he still hasn't won a game outside the state of Tennessee. He hasn't even led us to a winning season. Let's see him do that before we even mention the H word. I'd say the odds of his leaving after next season are very small... and his odds of winning the Big One next year are even smaller. If he has an excellent season and stays for his senior year, then anything is possible.

I agree. Bray is VERY talented and is a good quarterback but needs put in a lot more work to move into elite status. Unless he puts in that work and shows alot of growth as a quarterback, he would be hurting his odds of a successful NFL career in my opinion. He has the talent but isn't ready....yet.

I see DR as what we used to call 70 percenters. He plays hard and plays great...70% of the time but takes too many plays off and can let himself get into a little bit of a funk when things aren't going his way. Again, he is talented enough to be a leading SEC receiver and probably have a solid NFL career. If he can learn to play hard ALL of the time and develop into a leader, he has the chance to be outstanding.

JH has freakish talent. He seems to be the most willling to do the work of the three. Just needs to stay healthy and do it for a full season. If he stays healthy, I think he is the most ready to make the NFL jump after next year.

Just my humble opinion.

2013 we will have upwards of 19-20 returning starters, majority seniors, expectations should be very high.

One thing nobody is counting on is uf,bama and oragon will have to replace startes who graduate.LOOK AT UT,S possible starters next year then if know one goes prro early ut should return 18 or 19 starters again.with plenty of experience.Im not banking on beating those teams yet but it may be possible by then.
