Tyler Bray: 34-41 405yds 4tds (merged)

I agree with you, thebjd. Part of Bray’s statistical success thus far can be attributed to sheer, unadulterated necessity. If I remember correctly, Dooley said, in the post-game interview, that he saw improvement in the running game although it doesn’t clearly show in the stat sheet and it hasn’t begun to manifest itself yet in consistent drive blocking off the line.

In 7 and a half games as UT's QB, Bray has passed for over 2500 yards, 25 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. That would be considered a solid full season for nearly any division 1 college quarterback. That comes down to about 330 yards, 3 TDs, 1 INT per game. Say what you will about competition, but the fact that he's put these numbers up in less than 8 full games as a true freshman/true sophomore is remarkable.

Amazing stat line and I'm still floored that we got to witness a UT team throw the ball over forty times in a game, but aside from a half against South Carolina and UNC, Bray has only seen the field against less than good competition so far in his young career with the Vols. Next weekend is by far his biggest test to date.

I had some great seats tonight and I watched Bray throw with precision. They were WR's open on every play. I know he missed the TE on one play early in the game going down the middle and we have scored, but man he is so accurate. If I remember correctly he was a 3* when the coaches found him and he was headed to San Diego St. and there where a lot of people on here pissed because the coaches would waste a scholly on someone who's best offer was San Diego ST. Isn't it good to have coaches who know talent when they see it?

Didn't kiffy and his minions land Bray?

thought he was scary accurate. definately has a possible nfl future if he can leave the pot alone, stay out of trouble, and go to class.

i'm sure fulmer nearly choked on his jumbo chilli dog when he saw that stat.

OK, I saw people post where Bray broke Manning's percentage completion record of 30 att at 83%. I did not see anyone post that he also broke Manning's record of 8 straight games with at least 2 td. Manning had 7 straight. So Tyler Bray broke 2 of Manning's records in this game. We have a bright future with Bray and Dooley at the helm.

I heard he smokes pot. He'll never do anything special.

Cannabascientists have long known that it is the Indica species that dilutes mental and physical performances. Mr. Bray is a Native American-Jew who is immune to the downsides of the Sativa species and, of course, to any mescal or psilocybilic compounds now what was I singsonging, Tyler pass me that spliff. :devilsmoke:
