How does this work with Jay Graham?

“Zach, I know I’ve been telling for years how good A&M would be for your future and how we are best suited to use and grow your talents, but now that UT is paying me, I realize I was wrong.”
Just has to say that everything at Tennessee is better than A&M. That's why he went there.

As a UT fan, that would appeal to me. But as a “neutral” HS kid? I’d see right through that.

But then again, I would commit as early as possible and never waver because I don’t want to play the game at all

The kids brother said football is not the end-all be-all for him.

Maybe, he really just likes playing, and all the other stuff and attention only reminds him of the fact it is just something he is good at, and enjoys to a point. Maybe the idea of being looked at as a commodity and future pressure of being an earner for more than himself doesn't sit well.

The question is how much does it really mean to him. Maybe, for whatever reason, he doesn't want to be committed to being totally immersed in his college life as a football player. Who knows, except him.

Yeah my first thought was he’s trolling
I would think so. Last year Chris Bogle and others said all kind of stuff on IG, and of course there’s recruits wearing clothes in their pics of (insert team). Only player i can remember that posted stuff on twitter or instagram MONTHS before he signed with us was actually Crouch. That dude had multiple workout videos of him working out in UT gear as far back as last May

Guy is playing the game on expert level

Yep, his evasiveness is probably driving a lot of folks crazy but it's a calculated approach. From the article I linked last week:

He’s the recruit who asks coaches every question, often again and again, yet answers few in return. “I’m playing the recruiting game with them,” Evans said.

...There’s a dice tattoo along Evans’ right arm. Evans knows even recruiting, if he wants to do things his way, is a risk. “My spots fill up quick...A lot of (coaches) preach how a school can do this or that. But that’s not the way I was raised. Salt and sugar look the same. You just have to play the game with them. Play it smart. They’re playing it smart too.”
