'20 TX QB Haynes King (TAMU Commit)

Don't care. We need 2 QB's this class, the staff is going to take 2 QB's this class. Accept it or move on.
It’s nothing to accept...it’s YOUR opinion. You stated the same thing emphatically last year ftr...we signed ONE.

I understand what you are saying. W.as just trying to explain why some are concerned. I remember when this happened with PM and BS.

"But I like Tennessee going into June for Haynes King, who may give those California guys (DJ Uiagalelei and Bryce Young) a run for their money as the number one quarterback in the country when all is said and done. He fits the profile- state champ, threw for 4,000 yards, only 4 interceptions, over 600 yards rushing, champion in discus, also runs the 400 meters, fast as hell, varsity basketball player. He’s got a lot going on."

Anyone who doesn't want this kid at UT is out of their damn mind.
I 100 percent agree. Personally, I think Haynes might be our biggest skill position get since Kamara. I just hope it’s being handled right with HB. We have seen the blueprint on how NOT to handle this situation with Butch.

I want him here too. I'm afraid, in typical UT fashion, we end up with neither King or Bailey.

We keep hearing that example. Net result was Stewart transferred THE VERY NEXT SEASON after losing out to Manning and Peyton played practically without a backup for the next two seasons until Tee arrived. Good situation.

My goodness, it's like certain posters just have to find something to worry about.
It’s not far fetched in this case. I hardly ever fall into that category, but I can see this whole situation being botched. Said my piece and I’ll exit the argument roundabout.

I meant people were concerned one would run the other one off then that one would decommit, and we would be left without either BS or PM in the class...which was possible. Recruiting is a gamble.

I don’t remember all that. That was way before social media and even ESPN didn’t constantly update on commits. They didn’t have a top 250. There was no star rating system. After Signing Day recruitniks would rush to buy USA Today to see who their team nabbed and eagerly await the Sporting News to get some sort of breakdown. I was in the AF, so I couldn’t instantly nab a News-Sentinel or (ugghh now) Tennessean...had to wait for that package from the family. I would compare names of our signees against Max Emfingers top 300 and blue chip players to see how well we fared.

Free 247 article trying to pump this kid up. Saying he may give Cali kids a run for their money as top player in Country. Maybe its true. App A&M is slow playing him.

Hope we hold onto Bailey.

Think it was The Times where I was reading the insinuations that it was great to have the two "if" they could keep them. Then it became QB competition in the press and will this one stay if this one gets the job. It just took the fun out of getting 2 highly ranked QBs. The press is good at that. They also are good at pushing the whole "you have to get all the best players in the state, or you are losing at recruiting" thing.

It was different times. You had to outsource your angst with local sports journalists. Most of their fan debate was AFTER their signing...is all I’m saying.

It's not my opinion we take 2 QB's. That's what the staff wants per 247 and VQ. I guess maybe they're lying.

And I'm not saying you or any other poster needs to accept this. I'm saying the QB's in this class do.

Everyone has their own view, even my uniformed one.

Chaney is the wild card.
What's his priority..
What do the QBs *think are his priorities.
Has anything happened lately to impact the QB's *perception of his priorities.

I'll be honest enough to say that I don't know the answers but think they play a huge role. He plays a such a part in their futures now.

Tired of hearing don't worry or it will be ok. UT has been terrible the last 2 year's.

There's plenty to worry about. Quit trying to act everything is ok

I think he was just saying that instead of taking the approach of "we may have 2 great QB's in this class", you are taking the approach of "we will lose both." If you had to put odds on which one of those scenarios is more likely as of today, it would be the former. 10+ years of ineptitude from Tennessee football doesn't really factor into predicting what happens here. Past results are usually a poor predictor of future results. If that wasn't the case, our storied program would not be in the state it is now.

What good is worrying gonna do? You have yer opinion, others have theirs. Yer tired of others opinions, and others are tired of yours. Do you just want everyone to worry and wallow in misery with you? I know I would rather you be excited with me but that would make for a boring board if everyone was either freaked out or calm and excited so I appreciate the mix. Doesn't mean I won't try to point out the positives and give some reasons for hope in response to posts like yours. And I know it probably won't do any good and you will just call me a pumper or question my intelligence. But hey, we all keep coming back for the debates.
