Jason Witten has a full plate in Texas. He coaches high school football and his oldest son C.J. plays football at Rice University..Witten isn't moving out of the state of Texas anytime soon...

he's an icon there. if anything he would be an analyst for Cowboys.

I was at that game and at least a dozen others while Written was a Vol. He had good speed but not a burner.

4.65 at 263 lbs ain’t nothing to sneeze at.

Witten was a phenomenal athlete. Very good speed for a TE of any size.

Tennessee should use that to their advantage.
One son already went somewhere else.

Tennessee would love to continue the Witten legacy with Cooper.

Witten's ultimate goal is a NFL HC position IF Witten did come to coach at Tennessee it would be a short stint.. he has bigger goals than College coaching.

What about his E TN family? Is his brother not the coach at his Alma Mater? Could actually reconnect his family with a return. Don’t know if family is a consideration at all. Also don’t know how tight he is with Jerry and family.

What makes you think that?

Liberty Christian won the state championship in their classification last season in Texas.

Elizabethton is respected in Tennessee but I can’t remember the last time they won a State Championship

Liberty Christian is a private school and not all that big with a little over 1300 students. It is in the larger private school classification in TX but that’s not saying much. My youngest kiddo went to another private school in the same league where he played baseball. His school was even smaller. Kiddo was a 2 time first team all-state baseball player In the largest private school classification. Again…not saying much (not to diminish his accolades).

Jason Witten would increase his salary at least 4x as a Vol Assistant IMO. Question is whether that is of interest to him?
