Two things:
I think John Wilkerson is a very talented announcer. I turned off ESPN sound after the literal oral sex frothing on the Florida State coaches zipper in the 4th inning. Turned on John Wilkerson like we used to do with John Ward....ended with this...
“Pitch by Hults, lined into the air towards center field, towards left-center field. That ball IS GOING TO GET DOWN. Dylan Dreiling has done it. The comeback is complete. Blake Burke scores from second and Tennessee walks it off. Four runs in the bottom of the ninth. This is a team that you just can’t count out. Fourth run batted in in the ball game. And Tennessee with four in the bottom of the ninth rises up to take down Florida State. It’s four runs for the Big Orange on five hits, two men left, the run batted in for Dylan Dreiling is his 67th on the season and none bigger from the sophomore from Hays, Kansas— family and friends in attendance for the heroics. Tennessee 12, Florida State 11. The Volunteers say ‘Hello Win Column’ for the 56th time. This one belongs to the Big Orange and THIS is Tennessee baseball.”
John flipped that out with John Ward Pacing and at 100 miles an hour speed. That guy is going somewhere.
also:
Just my opinion- This may be the best UT comeback in any sport since the Notre Dame butt block in the early 90’s reference SI article from when sports writers could actually write:
“Nobody could believe it, least of all Lincoln, a senior defensive back from Toledo. "I went up to my mom after the game," he said, "and thanked her for giving me such a big behind."

You failed to mention the hail Mary pass at the end of the Georgia game!

Thank you for posting this, when I grew up in Claiborne county Tn we could only get the games on the radio . John would give me a picture of every single play in my mind . He voice was legendary and I agree with you on the fact that Mr Wilkerson is on his way to the top ! His call was outstanding once again !

The 2016 comeback against Florida was incredible as well. But, none of them have the significance of this comeback.

And I agree about Wilkerson. When Bob retires there should be no interviews to replace him.

My family always turned the TV down and listened to Mr. Ward!
also: I was born at the Claiborne County Hospital in 1960. Dr. George Day delivered me. My father said he did not want any of his children to be born in Kentucky. I grew up in Middlesboro, Ky in a family of Tennesseans and proud Tennessee fans.
