1. We had no called running plays that went for negative yardage. Contrast this to two years ago, when we had the highest % of busted running plays in the entire FBS.

2. We had 5 trips to the red zone, and converted these to 5 TD.

Now remember how poorly our OL recruiting and development was for over 10 years. No more walk ons. No converted TE. No DL switching sides and instantly starting. No injuries due to crackpot S&C methods. The Friend/Chaney duo is paying major dividends. Regardless of how our QB plays, this line doesn’t look to go into slumps. We will be competitive.

Only problem was when it took us 4 downs to get in from the 2 yard line vs. Mizzou. That was a little troubling.

But score we did.
At least we did not go backward with flags/sacks.
And did not throw 4 incomplete passes.
Just follow the big boys.
Run the damn ball.

While not designed to take 4 plays, that was a positive because it ate some clock. Not that big a deal since our lead was by that time insurmountable, but it would help on a closer game.

Don't need no stinking trick plays.
Run the damn ball.

I hope you are right. I am not sure this will work against the big boys. We are on a different level than the past several years, but I'm not sure we can go toe to toe with all of them just yet. I guess we can do it until someone stops us a couple of times.
