TWO illegal motion plays in overtime by MSU. SEC ref are worst in the nation!

I know this has been talked about but the SEC really needs to their HQ to a major city like ATL or Orlando. Just get it out of BHam. I think it would help get bias out of the league and a major reset.

I really try not to complain too much about refs because it usually cuts both ways but that PI that stole Brazzels TD was the worst referee decision I’ve seen while watching UT
That PI call was a complete momentum shift caused by a ref 80 yards away from the play. Instead of Tennessee getting momentum and silencing the cowbells it took the wind out of the Tennessee fans and team and put them back 1st and 25. It was a massive gut punch that should have never happened.

Title says it all. GO watch the overtime plays from MSU, twice they had a man running at the line of scrimmage like Canadian football. The last play of the game in OT was the most outrageous. I'm not sure what's going on with these refs in the SEC but they are by far the worst and have been for the past few years.

I saw that too. Pretty bad no calls.

Glad they didn't call an illegal motion penalty on that last play. They would have replayed the down from 5 yards back. Could have only hurt us

There was also a big time hold on the 4th down play. One of their guards was holding big time. Of course you rarely get that type of holding call on a quick pass play near the goal line. But the coverage was good and their guard was struggling to keep our D-lineman off their quarterback. GBO

Cool story. Please give us a list of the refs that are good.
Man I hate people like you trying to be an edgy contrarian thinking your smarter than everyone. Hell, by your logic we should just be happy with the trash officiating we're getting, you're basically saying it's the best that can be done, live with it.

Look, Maybe all the refs are just as bad across the country I just don't see them all, but what I do see are fewer bad calls in the Big10 and ACC games, at least in the major games.
In recent memory I can name multiple major games that were officiated poorly in the SEC, games that stand out above the others like our Alabama game in 2023 when they never called clear holding. I can remember the South Carolina LSU game a year ago were they cost SC them game with 3 bad calls. This year already the Auburn Oklahoma game was called out by the SEC themselves becasue the refs missed a clear fake leaving the field play, not to mention the missed PI.
Say what you want but something has to change, its unaccepted to be paid and do such a poor job.

They need to evaluate how the replay system is used. With all the communication between refs, replay booth and sec headquarters all sec games should be monitored closely. For the greatest league in college football we are capable of doing better. Close calls are always going to be tough. I think most folks can live with that. I am older I can handle the right call going against me. I just want to see them make their best attempt to get it right no matter who is playing. Sometimes it’s close and you just got to stay with the call. Holding plays are always going to missed both ways. But obvious misses or rule violations should always be able to be corrected with all the communications available. I just hope Sankey and sec officials are willing to try to get top performance from all the officiating crews. I know calls are sometimes missed by the best, but I think we can do better. GBO
