Wrote this for Vol Nation while I couldn't sleep...

‘Twas the night before Florida, near the General’s house,
Not a Vol fan was sleeping, not even a mouse.
The colors were hung by the bedside with care,
In hopes that a victory soon would be there.
The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of Peyton danced through their heads.
And Ma in orange PJs and I in my cap,
Had just settled in for an early Fall nap.
When out on the roof there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from my bed to see what was a matter.
When what to my wandering eyes did appear,
But a miniature sleigh pulled by eight Volunteers!
With a little ole driver, yelling all of the way,
Give me your All among his many clichés.
More rapid than Gators, his courses they came,
As he turned different colors and called them by name.
Now Joshua, now Alvin, now Ethan and Jalen,
On Kelly, on Jumper, on Barnett and Maybin.
To the top of the hill, where the Vols play ball,
Now dash away, dash away, dash away all!
As I pulled in my head and was turning around,
Down the chimney Butch came with a bound.
He was dressed in all Nike from his head to his toes
With his top button buttoned, on his checkered polo.
He was smiling and happy, a jolly old elf,
Then I said Go Big Orange in spite of my self.
Then he turned and he winked and nodded his head,
And it gave me this feeling the Gators were dead!
He spoke not a word, but went straight to work,
Leaving shakers and T-shirts, then turned with a jerk.
He left me a white one with an orange power T,
Knowing my section would be white on TV.
Then laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose.
He sprang to his sleigh, his team waiting to buck,
Then they all flew away, like a duck pulls a truck.
But I heard him exclaim ‘ere they drove out of sight.
“We gonna whoop some Gator asses tomorrow night!”

I would highly encourage you to check your calendar before 3:30 this afternoon

I'm not going to lie, I started reading this skeptically and half way through realized I was enjoying myself.

That was quite good and I almost lost it on the "checkered polo".
