*is just waiting for the first person to come along and say, "OMG Kahlil must REALLY suck if he still has his stripe!" setting off a board-wide panic.*

*maybe that's why he jogged back to the locker room yesterday. For shame*

I think it's hilarious. I know it's a little sadistic but when a large group of posters decide who will be first... Then they're not even top 3, I laugh. :naughty:

Umm...not a bro, and I think the middle ground linguistically between 'jogged' and 'limped' is 'lumbered'.

Lumbered with good energy. :D

Good stuff. I doubted he would get it done before the likes of KMac and Kirkland but it seems I was wrong. Congrats. Great news and shows how being an EE helps. All 3 so far have been EE. Phillips didn't practice much in spring but the time in the room with Maggitt, Barnett and O'Brien has served him well.

Either Butch is trying to temper expectations with Kahlil or it just might take a little longer for him to get accilimiated to this level of football than originally thought. I personally thought he would AT WORST be the second freshmen to lose his stripe. I know his teammates have been more complimentary of him than the coaches. So we'll see whats up in a few weeks when games actually start getting played.

I think the coaches really want to contain the KMack hype, but they also know that he's going to play a lot this season and make some huge plays. I mean, there's plenty of video evidence already that he has the strength and size to be dominant.

I don't think there's anything 'up'--he's a true freshman at his first camp trying to learn the system and adjust to the speed of the college game. He's just fine--he's already planting people in the turf, after all. By the time the season rolls around, he'll be ready.

They need all the snaps they can get before Oklahoma comes to town. Doesn't really matter if they start as long as they get the game-time reps.

CBJ might be using a strip to help motivate an already good player by leaving KMAC's strip on and removing Shy's. Also, he is rewarding Shy for his effort and work and in a way showing Shy that he is not an after thouht and is just as important to the team as KMAC. JMO and not worth 2 cents, or sence, or since, or scents.

I don't think the coaches are the ones that decide the order of stripe removal...In the past it has been an older "mentor" player that decided when their charge was ready to get the stripe removed.

Yeah it really doesn't matter since the DL rotates quite a bit, but I really think those two might already be better than O'Brien and Williams. Which is saying something because those two were solid starters last year.

This is true. Although I bet the coaches might have a little input, the older players might decide and then have to get it approved by the coaches.

Also, I bet KMac loses his stripe this week. Dormady and Jennings seem like they are fairly close to losing their sripes as well.
