Turning in my True Fan card

C'Mon bruh !! Just kidding big man, congratulations and God Bless. Tell me where you're registered and I'll make sure the lil lady gets a copy of the " Vol For Life " handbook !!

Guys I'm sorry.

I am getting married on October 24th. At 6 PM. I'm going to miss the Bama/UT game.

I'll take my lashes now.
As a guy who who is going to be a groomsman that day for a wedding starting at 530 I hate you and people like you, you poop mouth!!!

Congrats man

In counseling younger colleagues who think about quitting the job because their wife/girlfriend wants them at home more, I tell them that "any man who quits a job for a woman soon has neither."

Here is to you! My wedding gift for you, because she has obviously taken yours, your very own set!

In fairness, she knows that when UT is playing, I'm watching it, and she has no issues with it. One of the many reasons why I love her. Oh and she pretends to be interested in the game even though she has no idea what's going on, just to make me happy.

But can she make a sandwich?

Well assuming the guest list is mostly comprised of Vol fans you will save a ton on the reception.

Luckily my wife would have killed me had our wedding been scheduled on game day or even during college football season. Over the years I have skipped every during season Saturday wedding except my sons last year on the day of the Ga game. I almost killed him but he never became a football fan at all (fail) lol. Was over before the second half tho

Why is everyone so against the other 6 days of the week?
I got married 12 years ago on a Sunday, great turnout and marriage.
Come on guys, it's 12 -13 days a year......

Unless she said so. Then all bets are off.:ermm:

we got married during the Memphis game. It was org a bye week. It was also a compromise. I said hail no to Fla week. We also streamed the game during the reception.
Everyone there is a Vols fan. Were not gonna hide it. Or fake it. Our reception was very laid back and not formal at all. Thats how i wanted it. That or elope.

TIVO! And make everyone swear to secrecy about the game unless Bama gets lucky then, decide for yourself about watching it. Good Luck, and Congratulations!!

GO VOLS!!!

I just wish the game was on ESPN so you could watch it on the Watch ESPN app and not miss it. Congrats on your wedding.

Congrats. Maybe record the game and watch it the next day? Or just check Volnation, there will be countless threads giving a pretty good idea of how the game went.

OP..... :thud:

You didn't think for one minute it's not about you, did you?
It's about US! The VolNation collective! :bash: You just don't do things like this to US! It's, it's....BAMA week for love of Mike!!

Anyway.... congrats and best of luck!

Saturday won't change but the anniversary date will. They'll only celebrate on Sat every 7 years or so not counting in leap years.:unsure:
It's a gift - the anniversary is not some static date like October 24... it's the Bama game! Since it's the most important thing going on that day and all :) Next year, the anniversary is on, what, October 15 or 22? So long as OP's wife has the sense of humor to recognize that the anniversaries are on a rolling schedule he's golden.

(Disclaimer: I got married the day we beat Georgia in 2004. The best man may or may not have had an earbud speaker that day.)

Oh and grats man!!
