And there's nothing wrong with that, either! I'm very excited for the Brawl of the Wild redux here in a few minutes; why is FCS fine but the idea of a more competitive second rung so sacrilege? I can't believe the "heavy-hitter" G5 programs would rather participate in a Sisyphean effort of getting your ass kicked by the big dogs as opposed to having a chance at winning something in a bracket that I am sure would draw decent attention and dollars.

Indeed. No offense to them, but they would both get trucked by the teams that didn’t get in. Amazing the smartest guys in the room can’t fix college football. They just keep taking excruciatingly tiny steps and missteps trying to figure this out. It’s not rocket science.

So Virginia losing to 8-5 Duke in the ACC Championship lead to these teams playing in the playoffs? Things have to change going forward to get the best teams in. This is a joke.

Yeah, I know the G5 fanbases would scream and cry over it, but does anybody really think these teams are among the best in Cfb? Only an idiot would. And I mean that with all respect to the G5-I’m an App State fan secondary to the Vols, after all.

The only G5 that’s ever been able to keep up with the P5 was Boise State, but even their time in the sun left with Petersen (and was later revived for a couple of years with Jeanty). They need their own playoff, it’d be so much better for them. Trying to hang with the big boys is unsustainable in the current NIL era, since their best players just get raided by the P4 anyway.

People need to realize Vandy has no claim to be in the playoff. Just as Notre Dame doesn’t have one. The both beat 1 good team (USC) combined between them.

JMU earned their spot. So did Tulane. The ACC could have solved this issue by not having dumbass tiebreakers.

Yeah, but I’ll tell you what….There’s nothing like tailgating at The Grove. My goodness…the “scenery” down there would make a bulldog want to break his chain.

They “earned” it under current rules. They are not in the Top 12 teams. The rules need to change.
