That's not remotely but ok, if you say do.

He's a lot better than what he's been allowed to do. I remember 1 really bad pass from dobbs last year. It was vs usc, and he came back the very next drive and scored a td. My point is that very late in the game he lead a great drive to score the final td, he shook off the int and lead us to a win. Seems everyone has forgotten how good he was at passing last year with an even worse oline. I know usc was bad last year, but being down 14 late in the fourth and just throwing a pick, is hard to come back from. The only change that has happened to the offense this season is Debord. The players are the same. No one should question dobbs ability to make good throws, they should be questioning the OC.

Talk is talk. They've talked up the passing game since spring. They've talked up Dobbs ability to run the passing game since spring.

I'll believe what they're saying when they actually play a quality opponent and run a somewhat balanced O.
If games were won by talk we would be undefeated

I've heard numerous sources say they don't think Jones trust Dobbs for some reason. And that's not a criticism of Dobbs IMO. It's an indictment of Jones and his mentality/philosophy. After all, a coach who constantly talks about how every game is gonna be close this year, is a blade of grass game and is a game of inches sure doesn't sound like a guy who is willing to throw the ball all over the yard....and what we've seen from the offense thus far shows it.

Anyone who doesn't believe they don't trust Dobbs throwing the ball hasn't been watching.

This coaching staff is very close to Erik Ainge'ing him, I think.

I totally agree with you, KB. Let him ball. We'd be 4 - 0. So, we haven't turned the ball over much. We haven't made a Gawddarn game winning play either.

They should let him throw it! Hell he had one fumble and could have easily had 2 more running the ball that rolled out of bounds.

Ok, so they "think" the coaches.dont trust him. Just because they have radio shows does not mean they're observations are true. Dobbs was pretty much the savior last season. He's inconsistent throwing downfield, and he's only thrown 1 pick (desperation pass vs OU), so I'm not sold on them not trusting him... yet lol

I don't listen to the radio so the first I heard of a mistrust was in Dobbs latest media interview. He confirmed it himself.

I think it's ridiculous they are putting it in the defense. It's the coach that lost the game with the ultra conservative mentality.

WTH!!! I only saw like two or three people with charts!! No wonder our offense is stagnant. We need better communication with the charts and the analytics.

In band we all had charts. This way we all had the same information at the same time. Much better communication that way.

And remember, the DE only has 2.8 seconds to run a 17 foot arc. Therefore, knowing the inverse tangent to the oblique of the curve will yield a much more efficient attack rate. If we could just teach our DB's the proper force/speed ratio and how it effects the inertia of a body in motion, we probably wouldn't have missed that tackle in the 4th qtr. on 4th down that lead to the td. It's all in the numbers people!!!!!
:)

That was Butch's problem. He was using a Casio calculator instead of a TI-84 plus!

CBJ: we worked a little on downfield passing as well as the 2 minute drill. I really felt after looking at the chart that this was never an issue in our game last week but we're young and still building things brick by brick.

It would behoove Butch to never mention that f---ing chart again! "Brick by brick" needs to be shelved until national signing day. AND, enough already with the "young" crap!

There...I feel better.

Not true. What you heard was a Tennessee "like" (lahk) not "lack". I just turned it almost all the way up and listened repeatedly. Here's what was said at the end:

Reporter: "So you do feel like the trust is there?"
Dobbs: "Yes."

Here's the link if anyone else wants to listen and weigh in:

The part referenced is at the very end.

Or 4th and 3, 4th and 5, 4th and 6 or 4th and 7....

It's 4th and 3 and teams are thinking "on one hand UT has one of the best punt returns in the country, on the other they've given up 9/10 4th downs." Teams are going to be going for it on 4th down a lot against us this year
