Tuesday Practice Thread: UGA Week

Tennessee coach Jeremy Pruitt indicated he saw Guarantano throwing on his own in the indoor facility on Sunday, and though he was wearing a brace on his left knee, he looked fine dropping back and throwing passes during Tuesday's practice. Sapp was going through linebacker drills like he has been the past two weeks.

Pruitt spent both open periods on Tuesday on the offensive field. He swung by tight-end drills before spending nearly a full period watching the offensive line work and then went over to where the quarterbacks and wide receivers were working on various formations and route combinations. It certainly is notable a defensive coach like Pruitt spent so much time on the offensive side of the ball when he's almost always working with the defense.

The only real change of note for the offensive line was Chance Hall seeing increased work at left guard.

Freshman Kingston Harris continues to work at right guard after moving to offense from the defensive line last week.

It was freshman Kurott Garland, who has yet to play this season, who was in a regular orange defensive jersey and working alongside the starting trio of Shy Tuttle, Kyle Phillips and Alexis Johnson and the second group of Emmit Gooden, Paul Bain and Matthew Butler.

...with Latrell Williams in a regular jersey to give the Vols nine wideouts in non-scout-team jerseys. Williams switched jersey numbers to No. 82 for the Florida game and actually was targeted in the fourth quarter. It's notable he played ahead of Jordan Murphy and Cedric Tillman.

Heavy emphasis on run-blocking drills for the tight ends as you'd expect as Tennessee looks to shore up its run game.

Thanks Fingers as always! I can't recall ever seeing so few views/comments on a Fingers practice thread. It's a sad state of Vol football me buckos! Keep putting one foot in front of the other, baby steps if necessary, moving forward.

They need to play the best players and no one sit, they need the practice against the better opposition. Let them get tired of getting walloped. I played ball and I hated to lose so I would try harder but today's kids are different in general.

While I don't pretend to be a coach, I'd like to see JG sit out this game, bring him back for Alabama. Let him rest, he can do his part by rallying the troupes on the sideline with words of encouragement. I don't care what your opinion is in regards to his ability, he's one tough kid.

Well if JG does play Saturday GA will know the run option is out....but then again if Chryst plays you could say the same...Looks like either way they won't have to worry about qb keepers...Ga playing a one armed man

Huh? That is the one thing everyone says has improved the most. Everyone from players to coaches to pundits have talked about how much better a vocal leader he has become.
