No idea what video you watched. Miltons ball is very well thrown. Hookers looks the weakest IMO.I dont know this stuff but purely from that vid, Milton has a fast and powerful release but he does not follow through with it well....almost like trying to score a point in a karate match vs a punch designed to go through the target. I am guessing that affects his accuracy especially in the long ball. Hooker does a better job at that and Bailey looks really smooth, like a golf swing almost. I can see the fascination with someone like Milton as he has the beef to run over defenses (if he decides to) and release speed but I am not sure if they are going to be able to change his mechanics.
Again, I have no idea what is better or who is more accurate at practice, etc but HB's throws just look pretty. I dont know how else to say it but it looks elegant. Milton looks to be pulling them up short from his max strength whereas Bailey seems to be tossing them with whatever strength is needed for the throw with a consistent speed throughout the release. What we can see of Hooker also looks more smooth than Milton. This is a tiny slice of video though so, who knows?
I actually think the best ball Milton throws is to the middle of the field. I don't grasp why he doesn't attack more there. The throws he has made in the middle of the field were where they needed to be. Our recievers need to catch them. Use the TE here also if can do that effectively will open up 1 on 1's outside then take the deep shot. Even at Michigan his best ball was to the middle but I guess really you have to trust the guys to make the catch.Wr. Aren’t always open and aren’t always the prime target. But there are some drops but Milton doesn’t see the middle of the field or isn’t confident there. I’m hoping they have only shown a small mix of the offense and he starts spreading the ball around confidently !
I think they are long tossing too… doesn’t make sense not to have someone catching for them…37 seconds in...Milton looks to catch a long return throw that hit his hand awkwardly...right thumb definitely affected.
Why the hell does he not have someone catching those throws...a year removed from thumb ligament surgery....like QB’s use to?! Smh...
I mean he has only been there a full year but sure and he was out close to 40 days last year with COVID.The love for #15 blows my mind. Nothing against the kid at all but dang. He’s been there 2 years and 2 coaches and still 3rd on the depth chart and y’all crap yourself every time he appears n a video hahahahaha.
Maybe we need to recruit players who can catch a bullet with their teeth. Those guys are really quick and never drop one.I actually think the best ball Milton throws is to the middle of the field. Hmm yeah. I mean sure Hyatt had an easier catch if the ball is laid with a little more touch but damn dude you get two hands on the ball you gotta make that grab. It heppens and hopefully he worked on that this week. They have to work together. The encouraging thing is Hyatt got open. Now go make the play, yes Milton could have taken a little off and laid it out. Ge needs to make that play and I am sure he would tell you the same.Maybe we need to recruit players who can catch a bullet with their teeth. Those guys are really quick and never drop one.
Already the new recruit is being labeled this, and the one behind him and the one behind him and on and on it goes.
Why can't we not pick sides either way and just let these guys develop or not. It's not like anyone has gambling money on it.
The only thing that matters is that the coach isn't married to whoever he makes the starter. It was like pulling old iron nails from oak with Pruitt to get someone else a chance to lose games besides JG. Yet he would bench any other player for the slightest miscue. I don't want either of that in Huepel.

Didn't see that one. We will know soon enough, of HB transfers then he does and we will play who we have. It could have a lasting impact or none at all. I agree that HB is probably the best passer. Thats my opinion and its pretty obvious Heupels opinion is different. It is his job to keep or lose. We will find out in 3 or 4 years which way thats going to go. Until then we are pissing in the wind.Pretty simple really, beyond anything to do with ability, we have known Bailey much longer. A highly touted HS recruit who we snagged and then were desperately hoping he could take over from JG (but seems Pruitt never even gave him the practice snaps to do so). Also, HB has had several opportunities to leave but has stayed loyal to TN in spite of the coaching carousel.
Milton and Hooker are guys just transferred in so we haven’t had the chance to really own them as a fan base yet.
And whoever tried to imply earlier (without saying it directly) that it’s because HB is white, keep that racist BS to yourself.
Just out of curiosity, what is your knowledge set to make the analysis that the opinions of others are wrong?Any of you that think you know better than the coaches from watching what you call “film” are delusional. What “film” have you seen? The TV broadcast? Sorry, not film. The film shows multiple angles and you can see the entire field. 3 minute practice videos? Definitely not film.
These coaches see hours of practice and scrimmage vs your 3 min for a few practices and your limited views of TV broadcast. Not to mention they actually know what plays are called and who’s really at fault (for ex, WR runs wrong route or pulls up)
So have your opinions but don’t act like you know more just because you experienced JG
That’s where you’re wrong. We in know way have to respect the coach’s decision. Dooley, Pruitt, Butch. Until proven otherwise I have no reason to trust Heupel.
That’s what we said about all of them (except Dooley). Like I said, he’s got everything to prove. Here’s to hoping he does.Fans voicing displeasure over a player who the OC and HC deemed worthy to start after one game is so Tennessee. There's so many intangibles at play and you know good and well those former coaches are no where near the coach Heupel is. He's won. He's a proven coach. The others were hacks. So, yes his decisions carry weight. Unlike the other pretenders.

Thank you, Mrs. Bailey.
Not surprised that VN includes so many posters smarter than our HC, OC and QB coach. Well done!
Open Wr. In the middle yes he hits them and hits them hard. But he’s not confident in coverage schemes or doesn’t trust it. Not being able to lay the ball into that spot I believe is his weakness. Arm strength we know he has to the outs and deep outs. Throwing the ball 70 yards is great. Touch and timing and connecting on the long ball is disconcerting at the momentI actually think the best ball Milton throws is to the middle of the field. I don't grasp why he doesn't attack more there. The throws he has made in the middle of the field were where they needed to be. Our recievers need to catch them. What proven wr’s do we actually have? Part of the problem. Hyatt because he smoked one Alabama receiver last year?? Seeems to be the hype so far.
Why start this BS of "Milton may have been guaranteed the starting job?"No one is claiming to be smarter than Heupel and staff. Learn to read before letting your fingers type ignorant rants!!! It MAY BE TRUE that Heupel promised Milton the job before transferring. I hope it isn't true. If so, Heupel could lose the team quickly like Pruitt and staff did last year. Myself as well as thousands on this board have seen a lot more accuracy from Bailey than Milton as of now. Time will tell if others and myself are right about Bailey and Milton. Either way, I still say Bailey is a diamond in the rough needing a few starts to put it together and be the QB he was projected to be!!!
