Tucker Carlson Obsession Thread (merged)

Newt's brilliant. His only problem is he knows it and wants to make sure you know it too.

I have talked with Newt a couple of times, had dinner with him and couple of others once. Gingrich absolutely relishes in his own brilliance, I'm guessing because others can't fully appreciate how brilliant he is LOL. There really are few people though who have his gift of analysis and being able to distill a complex topic into a few clear sentences, complete with a pithy aphorism, understandable by the common man.

Funny enough, Newt said one of the smartest people he had ever known was Bill Clinton lol.

Are there any posters on here who both like Trump and respect Tucker's work?

Newt, like TR, is a prolific reader of books. I have read several he recommended. I have the CONTRACT WITH AMERICA.

Only $600 million no biggie right? And then they have another lawsuit for $2.7 billion from smartmatic. Turns out you shouldn't let people on your network defame companies and not be able to back it up. Furthermore you shouldn't let your talent do it. I would also say you shouldn't let your talent knowingly lie to its consumers for pandering purposes. But I would be wrong. Tucker fans 100% cool with it. Smart bunch. Fox deserves every ounce of this .

‘I’m Shocked’: Trump Reacts To Tucker Carlson’s Departure From Fox

Former President Donald Trump said Monday that former Fox News host Tucker Carlson was “terrific” and was stunned at his departure from the network.

“I’m shocked. I’m surprised, he’s a very good person, a very good man and very talented, as you know, and he had very high ratings,” Trump told Newsmax host Greg Kelly in an interview taped earlier Monday. “We’re just learning about it now almost as we speak.” (RELATED: Former Fox Host Predicts Tucker Carlson Departure Will ‘Kill’ Network)

“I don’t know if it was voluntary or it was somebody fired,” Trump said, “But I think Tucker’s been terrific, he’s been, especially over the last year or so, he’s been terrific to me.”

Lots of people in the world think they're smart. Few who actually are smart would laugh at the thought that both Clinton and Gingrich aren't geniuses.

What do you expect him to say?

Smartomatic only handled voting for one county in 2020. That's a frivilous lawsuit compared to Dominion. Fox is countersuing

They defamed them. It's not frivolous. It may not have as much weight as Dominion but it sure as **** isn't frivolous. And we don't know what it's worth bc Dominion settled. My guess it's another several hundred million dollar settlement. For once again lying! Knowingly lying. But idiots

I have a real fear that Jesse Waters is going to take that spot, either that time or become the heir apparent. Carlson is a smug SOB but Waters is off the charts. Really seems like the glib factor with him caps his upside potential.

Waters journalistic ability topped out at his street interviews.

Good. I guess that means they will start focusing more on actual news which will turn away much of their audience.
And, I don't watch any cable news.
People are far better off if they do not watch Fox. It's poison (but a little less so today).
Don’t get your hopes up on that focusing on actual news thing.

Their goal has been simply to make money, and they found a nice formula for doing that---pushing a lot of fatuous nonsense on people who need fatuous nonsense to reinforce their political views. Fox found a very nice market--rural Americans--for fatuous nonsense. Same market that televangelists have been mining for decades--and not much difference between the two.
Them and CNN. Same game plan, different targets.

I don't think anyone, smart or otherwise, questions that they were some of the most intelligent political minds of their era. Few politicos have ever had the personal charm Bill did during that period. He was truly masterful at working a crowd in a very personal way. Trump was/is amazing at these big rallies. Newt is more of a mentat.

I don't watch Fox/Tucker but I'm not sure what Tucker has do to with it. Megan Kelly's comment that Carlson was not involved with the Dominion assertions made by some others is backed up by HuffPo: Defamation Suit Produced Trove Of Tucker Carlson Messages Rather, it appears he broke ranks with whatever hosts were supporting a voting machine scandal. The speculation @BowlBrother85 that his ouster was a condition of that suit seems unlikely. The Guardian is reporting it's due to a pending discrimination suit by a former producer: Tucker Carlson fired on Murdoch’s orders over discrimination lawsuit, report says – live

Lastly, Carlson, Hannity and Ingraham emails were made public as part of the lawsuit used by Dominion lawyers. An exchange between them showed dissatisfaction with Wallace and another I assume to be head of something (News?), and that the three of them had a lot of power and could potentially force change. That could easily be seen as mutinous by Murdoch, who certainly knew about the discrimination lawsuit prior, and possibly used that to fire Carlson and put Hannity and Ingraham on notice.

FOX, CNN, MSNBC, even the major networks.... What does it matter? They're all feeding the nation propaganda, and there are plenty of sheep waiting to eat it up.

Be interesting to see if they move towards a less risky product or keep pandering to the crazies. My guess is they try to split the baby.

I think we are going to see that the brand loyalty was to Fox News ... not to him. He can go to Newsmax, but I don't think the audience which gave him such great ratings on Fox News will go with him.
He’s capable and articulate. He’ll probably do very well for himself. Ideally he’ll stop grifting the gullible.

Why is her sexual orientation relevant? It isn't ... but Republicans will always bring that up anyway.
“Always”=1 person said it. Interesting.

I don’t care about her sexual preference. No matter which way she bats she’s an elitist who isn’t half as smart as she, and seemingly you, thinks she is. Left’s TC. You know it’s true.

Bud Light made a really stupid move. There is no debating that. However, the dumbest decision in the history of American corporate governance was the rollout of New Coke by Coca-Cola. The good news for them was that they were able to successfully reverse that decision.
Reversed the decision in the US where it was unpopular and kept New Coke in places where it was popular. Shrewd.
