I was reflecting on some of the similarities between Tommy and Phil as they are both gone after 10 or more years with their respective programs.

1. Tuberville and Fulmer are the only two coaches in the BCS era that have gone undefeated in the SEC.

2. Both have only 2 losing seasons in their tenure.

3. Tuberville averaged 8 wins a season and 4 losses, Phil was about 9 wins and 3 losses a year.

4. Both Tuberville and Phil owned Alabama both Auburn and UT's biggest Rival.

5. Both were the two longest tenured coaches in the SEC at their current school, that I can think of.

Both own the longest winning streak against Alabama from their previous employer.

Both claimed they didn't become a bad coach overnight - or in Fulmer's case 'become stupid overnight'.

Both get 6 million I believe.

Both 'resigned'.

Both wanted a an official Red Ryder carbine-action 200-shot range model air rifle BB Gun with a compass in the stock for Christmas

tubbs was 9-4 in his last 13 games agaisnt top 10 teams.

Tubs is 2-2 against Meyer at FL.

Tubbs is 1-1 against Saban, 7-3 overall against Bama

Tubbs has 5 western division "titles"

Tubbs Beat Fulmer the last 4 times out

you ask me, this was simply an overreaction to what Bama has done in such a short time.

they're expected to make a real push for Muschamp and have already contacted Leach to guage interest.

good luck is all i can say.

The main money at Auburn has wanted him out for some time. This was his excuse.

agreed. Tubbs should have left Auburn high n dry after he went undefeated that year........just after they snuck around the chicken coop to see if they could hire bobby petrino.

He was in a nearly impossible situation. It's tough to coach when the money man is breathing down your neck just waiting for you to stumble.

7. Both brought on new "spread" OC's this year.

Clawson does not run what has become known as the college spread. He runs a hybrid that resembles the west coast offense more than anything.

Look for Dave Clawson to land at Towson University within the next few weeks. They fired their coach Sunday and are int he same conference as Richmond.

I was wrong.

I thought he was safe because they didn't can him immediately after the Bama game.
