Blaming a coach for not "developing" Crompton is akin to blaming Jessica Simpson's teachers for the fact she's not a cardiovascular surgeon.Show me one stat, I've put up about Clawson's that's "throwing darts".. It's ugly but the facts are clear, our offense is horrible, and he's responsible
Clawson's a coach, so he's responsible for player development, as well as putting together an offensive game plan that can win games.
Your right, I'm not as quick to blame a player, who is a student athlete versus a highly compensated coach who's getting paid to develop, teach, lead and coach players.
To date he's failed miserably..
How dare you insinuate being unable to turn a QB who looks like a dog watching a card trick when he tries to read a defense and can't seem to throw the ball within 5 feet of open receivers into Dan Marino is anyone but Dave Clawson's fault?to the extent that he provided the raw materials, which he absolutely did not.
Clawson's the QB coach---so far, the QB has played terrible. That's clawson's responsibility.
He's been with the guy since what...February at best? I don't remember the hire date. Players and coaches can only have so much contact in the spring and summer. Much of a player's development is on the player. Crompton worked with Sanders and Cut for 3 years. Both are usually regarded as competent QB coaches.
If that's the case, who is to blame? The coaches, or that a player just happens to not be able to take on the rigors of the college game?
you don't really think Clawson was making the call on Crompton continuing to play, do you?
Exactly!...CTT and CPF can't keep their hands micromanaging hands out of the offense and let these guys do what they know how to do. Case in point...Randy Sanders seems to be thriving at UK with less talent. CDC is the only coach CPF would fully trust.
Why in the world did it take the UT coaching staff three years to realize that Crompton isnt going to make it as an SEC QB. Shouldnt they have seen something in the past could of years?
I'm not convinced either way but it was either Hyams or Mathews I heard on the radio talking about this and he said he knows for a fact that Fulmer asked Clawson if he wanted to bring another QB in during the Auburn game and Clawson said no. Take it for what it's worth but that's what he said.
Im positive that call came from Phil.
You cant expect to change to a completely different offense and not with the right people to run it and expect to be successful in 6 games.
