TSSAA unbelievably stupid rules.

The NFHS broadcasts constantly lose broadcast of the games in mid play. Constantly having to reboot or refresh and in some cases sign in completely. It is unwatchable and yet some how it is the only available video option in the playoffs in most cases until the PBS finals broadcast. The local channels high school Thurs-Fri day single games in playoffs somehow make it past the NFHS wall.

It would not bother me to pay to watch games if the connection worked but it flat doesn’t work

Didn’t NFHS sign a contract with TSSAA to obtain the rights to broadcast the playoffs?

I think that is only for the state championship games/state tournaments

I watched a live playoff game between Gatlinburg Pittman and Meigs County on YouTube - so not sure it's prohibited by TSSAA?

Any school/media outlet can broadcast playoff games but they have to pay the TSSAA, it think it was $250 for video and $100 for radio.

The exception is if the host school has a contract with NFHS Network, the away team is only allowed to have an audio only live broadcast. They're allowed to show video on delay. Thats how it was a couple years ago, I don't know if its changed.

There’s an escalating scale for the fee now, the further you make it, the more it costs. The Championship games are NFHS only.
