Trying to Confirm

Lol... Have u seen our conference and schedule? Winnin in this league means playing for a national title... That's the thing.. I think if CDD does go elsewhere, he could be successful in another conference..
This is definitely one of the toughest jobs in the country.. No doubt.

Under the right HC, I think he could become a pretty good OC.

You are a pretty active member in the recruiting forum, right?? Wouldn't you say that's the most rumor driven forum on this board??

For sure! Ask around, I've been saying the exact same thing there.. Too many wanna-be's that get off on the smallest piece of e-cred they get for copying someone else's opinion from somewhere else, and then posting it as their inside info.. I've seen it a lot..

What I am saying is that you must be in a state of total bliss and happiness right about now with all of this speculation flying around.

I know what you meant. SBV is the only credible poster that I've seen say anything. I've been looking for some of the others to post, but they haven't said anything. All the other speculation is just for entertainment value imo.

I try not to get too excited one way or the other because nobody knows the eventual outcome of the on-the-field production, regardless of the coaches we keep/sign. Winning is what gets me in a state of nirvana.

To be fair, a lot of coaches would be successful with that combination.

So a lot of SEC schools have first year d coordinators bringing in a brand new system switching from 43 to 34 with the only upperclass db's being as slow as turtles? Oh, and already playing 3 top 10 teams..

Whose idea was it to go with the 3-4? There had to be other options at DC knowing the offense we had coming back.

When it's not working, you dumb it down. We're not running strictly 3-4, either. I totally agree, that it takes time, but you adjust to what your defense actually has.

Well Dooley hired him. He should, and will be blamed for it. Sorry.

It doesn't take a defense full of 5* players and a world class defensive coordinator to not let every qb we face look like a Heisman candidate. The defense that we've seen is awful beyond the threshold of what would be acceptable growing pains for a transition. Georgia State and Akron both made our defense look like garbage. It's not like it is just the juggernaut SEC offenses making us look bad.

I like the 3-3-5, it works well in NCAA 13.

3-3-5 2 man under while showing blitz from time to time then bring the house when they least expect it. i also always play up on the receivers to throw off timing routes

Try a little man under and control the middle line backer.:)

WE ARE LIKE BROTHERS!!

Can't believe I just read through all that.

I don't know whose more delusional. The ones thinking Gruden will be our next coach or the ones thinking he wouldn't be the absolute best thing that happened to UT sports in 14 years if did somehow manage to get him.

Who's the more foolish; the fool or the fool that follows him?

It's tough, but there no excuse for this:

Tennessee Volunteers vs. Kentucky Wildcats - Recap - November 26, 2011 - ESPN

No excuse for Mississippi St. as well as countless other games. I really don't think he'll ever be successful. He might make a good assistant coach some day, but he will never be a good head coach, no matter the conference.
