SBV had it wrong on Shannon, and he admitted it quickly at the time, and repeated it just now up above.

I don't know that anyone will ever be able to share stuff with 100% accuracy, because the situation changes all the time, but SBV posts what he believes to be true, and he doesn't come here making giant puffy noises in hopes of being admired. He has real sources, as opposed to some guy he overheard at the next table over on his fifth beer, and he genuinely tries to share what he knows, without compromising said sources.

He's not always right and he admits it, but he usually is on the money. Like he says though, don't get too caught up in anybody's predictions or info because anything could happen behind the scenes and change the outcome.

That's fine, but when u say something is a done deal, it should be a done deal... As in- unless a catostrophic accident or something happens, it should be true... If its just not true, ur source is wrong once, and obviously CAN be wrong again..

This isn't recruiting in July.. it shouldnt be fluid if its definite..Either it's on paper, and it's a done deal, or it's not yet.

I'm sure SBV has more info than the majority of us have, but didn't say he thought Shannon was going to be the DC last year at the end of the season?

I'll believe it when it gets reported in the news.

I was joking.. And yes, I'll support my team and its coach. I do it all the time in the real world with trolls of other teams, and I've done the same here..

The Shannon deal was destroyed at the 11th hour.............he was very close to being our DC

Wasn't a knock on him, I saw where he admitted he was wrong about the Shannon deal. I was using Shannon as the most recent miss since everybody had a source and knew for sure he was coming, instead a big Italian from the Saban tree got off the plane.

I hear ya. I bought into the whole Randy Shannon thing at the time, and FWIW, I think that SBV did too.

My impression was that he was told that it WAS a done deal, and he reported this in good faith, and then things went into massive backpedal mode.

I don't know if that's true or not, but when you think about it, it's a pretty tricky position to be in --you're told this, that, and the other by insiders who completely believe that it's true (or that they need to make YOU believe that it's true) and then suddenly, it's not.

How much fun would it be to be a supporter from the outside, and then find that people were playing you like a marionette? But here on VN, we're mutts under the banquet table, scrambling for scraps that fall down to the floor. Not surprising that some of them are gristle and turnips.
