Trying to Confirm

Heard the Texas -Saban rumor this summer. If any school had the money to get him, it's Texas.

I would cry tears of joy if that happened. I don't think he leaves Bama for anything other than NFL though. No sources on that one just a feeling.

Dooley rumored to be getting an extension. Sal and Chaney to be replaced. Rock already painted over.

I want Dooley fired, but I am happy that The Rock has been painted over. Our program was a dumpster fire when Dooley accepted the job. We should be respectful once this happens. Dooley took the job when many others were reportedly turning us down, and he has tried his best here. His best wasn't good enough though to stay at UT. He'll resurface somewhere else.

Dooley had to know when he took this job that there was a decent chance he'd be bought out in 2012. That was the timetable I expected.

Good lord. Saban at Texas would be scary. They might beat the cowboys in a few years. It would also do wonders for that conference.

Agree. The rumor seemed a bit too much like the "Gruden has land in the area" rumor. I think it mentioned Saban had a lake house in Austin area. Just a rumor.

Hart is still a new AD. He doesn't have the relative good will that Hamilton was working with.

Hart will do whatever he darn well pleases. He could've made the decision to fire Dooley his second week on the job and not flinch. He knew at that time Dooley needed more time. However, Hart has been at TN over a year and has watched closely as Dooley continues to make a mockery of a storied program. He is an AD with national championship experience, knowledge of what it takes to build/sustain great athletic programs, and guts to make unpopular decisions. Your statement is mind-boggling.

Yeah if all of this is true, he deserves a hearty hand shake and a pat on the back. The guy wanted it but couldn't get it done, we don't need to be mean about it or be disrespectful. I feel like he truly does want success, he isn't here doing things underhanded or incorrectly. He operates with honor and that alone has helped our football program. If this is true, he failed while giving everything he had and trying to do it right. I can respect a man for that, and respect him deeply.

Agree.

And I'm a big fan of Dr. Steve Brule. Nice avatar.
