Trying to Confirm

I'm pretty sure this is why CDD had emergency hip surgery, wanted to make sure UT paid for it before he was run-off...

OK, I have to reply to this, because this is just dumb. When you get canned at this high level, you have medical coverage for X number of months. It's not like life for you and me, where we find ourselves standing on the sidewalk, with a paper bag full of our Kleenex boxes and pix of our kids and little cans of mints.

Dooley goes or he stays, I dunno; but it's absurd to say that he timed his surgery because he figures he's on his way out.

It's very, very unusual that someone as young and healthy as he would have a fractured hip, but it does happen, and he has had hip problems for a while. Maybe he had something like avascular (aseptic) necrosis of the head of the femur, where for some reason, the bone tissue at the top of the thigh bone dies, and it's been going on for a while. Then maybe while running up and down the sidelines, the weakened bone snapped. That would make it necessary to go ahead and pin the fracture.

Anyway, if and when he's gone, he'll have plenty of bennies for 4-6 months, if not longer. Even if he didn't, look at his severance pay, for God's sake. Phil is still raking his in. I can assure you that he can pay for his own healthcare coverage.

--and none of this has anything to do with whether he ought to stay or go. It's just an observation on how things are done when bigwigs are "freed up to find other opportunities." :hi:

Honestly, this is the best approach.

And for the record, I was certain that Randy Shannon was coming to UT.

There will be a lot of info coming out - both true and false - over the next weeks.

But sooner or later this will be very clear.

Spring, my post wasn't a dig at you or anything, it's just that there was so much info out there it seemed like a done deal and then all of a sudden, Sal is our new DC. So things can change, even when reliable sources post info.

This time, I'm going to try to be patient. But it's not always easy. Especially when it concerns the future of this program.

Is Dools done after USCjr game or is it after he beats Kentucky? Would almost think they need a coach named the week after the Kentucky game to save recruiting.

Just imagine if we lose one of the games after SC. That's how it could get worse and more than likely force Hart's hand to address it publicly.

Volnation would look like a nuclear bomb had hit it.

If we end up 3-5 after South Carolina, I don't see how the uproar could be any worse.

What do you mean "IF"? We ARE gonna be 3-5 two weeks from now. There's just no way around it...after the Bama beat down, this team will be completely deflated and out of Red Bull.

What the hell. Wow. This guy won a superbowl and took another team to one and is one of the most known and respected people in all of football. He would be a rockstar hire. Imagine him sitting in the living room of a recruit...I literally believe we'd land the no.1 ranked class in America every year. Hiring gruden would be our equivalent of bama getting Saban. Only gruden was successful in the nfl

Who cares about his pro record. Saban sucked in the pros but look at him now. Pro coaches don't translate well into college.

You are most likely correct in this statement. However, I'm guessing he would keep it if we won the next 2. And yes I know this is incredibly unlikely, and damn near impossible.

Troy will probably give us more problems than we want. I think it is impossible against Bama, and then the team will be quitting going into USCe.

Check recruiting football forum talk. Springbokvol confirmed it

That is not what Lowe said.

Lowe said that in his opinion, Hart being the AD for UT probably has or will be putting out feelers.

Lowe did not say that he had confirmed that Hart had started putting out feelers. I listened to the show tonight!!!
