States were informed, 21 of them. The systems were scanned, but only one report of actual hacking, Illinois. How did Trump do there? Even though the states have said they need the Feds to tell them what happened, they have no problem saying the Russians were the ones that hacked them with zero proof of who it was. None of the systems scanned with vote tallying, so they couldn't change anything even if they did hack.

so what exactly are we angry with Trump about? and what should we do to Russia, if it was them?

again, timeline. Manafort was manager from March until late August. most of the alleged Russian "hacking" happened in November, after he was fired. The FB adds were before he was hired. where is the smoking gun linking the russians actions to Trump thru Manafort? timeline doesn't add up.

Virtually ALL of the important DNC hacking happened during that timeframe. Hell, Crowd Strike and the FBI had tied it Russians by the end of April.

Some more detail is emerging about how the Russians used FB to influence the election. According to Carl Bernstein, fake accounts were used to pay for and post video of Trump criticizing Black Lives Matters, and those ads and posts were specifically targeted to blue collar communities in Wisconsin, Ohio, and Pa.

My question is, if that is correct, was Trump's campaign aware that this was going on?

The mere fact of them I don't find particularly troublesome. What I think has folks concerned is that it was an organized thing, a concerted effort to manipulate voters, and whether the Trump campaign knew that the participants in the scheme included Putin and/or the Russians.

I think more accurate to say motivated politically by racial division and politics. Whether they hate blacks I cannot say. A nuanced difference between that and saying they like people who criticize black political movements.

I'd say that is definitely Trump. I mean, look at the last four days in this country and how he has ramped up those sentiments. So whether it is that a given voter says, I am voting for Trump because he also does not like black people, or says, I'm voting for Trump because he is critical of black political theatrics and I resent them to, I do not know.

If the Russians had an organized scheme to manipulate voters by exploiting racial resentments and divides, then shame on them.

If the Trump campaign knew that Russia was doing that and encouraged it or otherwise rewarded it, then shame on Trump.

I mean, take a step back. For many years the right leaning posters on this board accused Obama of being divisive because he sometimes sided with, or expressed sympathy for, those claiming that blacks are systematically mistreated by law enforcement.

Look at Trump. He gives a roaring speech about how the NFL owners should fire those sons of *****es. "You're fired!!!!" and gets this massive reaction. Then he congratulates NASCAR for also criticizing it.

Look back at Trump's campaign. Constantly exploiting racial divides and issues. Is it that hard to believe that what the Russians were doing on FB, and other social media, was coordinated with the Trump campaign, which was essentially doing the very same thing every day?

The servers were never looked at, of course, many Democrats were even claiming those weren't their e-mails... fabricated... until someone informed them that the e-mails could be authenticated.:eek:lol:

The servers were never looked at or turned over, for obvious reasons... probably the person on the inside probably didn't get all the e-mails and then they would have turned over all of them.... which lead to... (I will leave it there for now)
