How much did Facebook make from advertising last year? And why did companies pay it?

I don’t have a clue , because there are so many stupid people in this country which was my point . If advertising on social media changes your vote , you are an idiot .

It was the meme thread here that changed my vote. I was With Her until I saw some of @FLVOL69 ’s memes.

I waited for Trump to say there was no collusion at his rally in Florida then winked right at me in the camera . I knew kremlin west was coming and I had to on board or get killed off with the liberals .

How much did the Russian's spend on FB advertising compared to the total amount of FB advertising, what % supported Trump vs Hillary and what was total FB political spending compared to total political spending.

We'll also ignore that the sharing of what was determined to be Russian initiated FB ads happened mostly among Republican voters so it's exceedingly hard to imagine it did anything to get Obama voters in the MIdwest to switch to Trump.

Of course not, they had zero expectation of him winning, they were already sharpening their pitchforks for Hillary.

I wouldn’t call it zero expectation. A lot of people were hoping he won but hadn’t called it in like the dims had. The meltdown was glorious.

Noam Chomsky on Trump-Russia Collusion
In March 2019, weeks before the Mueller Report was finalized, acclaimed scholar and "Manufacturing Consent" author Noam Chomsky explained in an interview why accusations of Russian meddling and Trump-Russia collusion were "a joke."

They didn't spend much for ads; most of the content was spread via viral sharing.

The question I was asked was, "Who is really influenced by what they see on Facebook?"

And the answer is there's a lot of influencing happening on FB, paid and unpaid. People spend a lot of time there.

Yet this ignores that the Russian influence (small as it was) was mostly shared by people already voting Trump.

If Obama voters who switched to Trump (the reason the midwest flipped) were influenced by Facebook it wasn't because of Russian efforts.

That statement shows just how stupid the Trump voters are and easily duped into spreading propaganda.
