Trump's Harvey response

Trump praises crowd size while touring Hurricane Harvey damage:

"Thank you everybody. What a crowd, what a turnout," Trump said to several hundred people surrounding a fire station in Corpus Christi - many of whom had been displaced due to flooding, according to a White House pool report.

The guy just can't help himself. He could literally walk into an evacuation shelter and then later boast of what a great crowd had turned out to see him.

Several hundred came to see him - clearly there are other things they could have done or been concerned with.

I hope I never become as cynical as you. I would imagine seeing the POTUS come to where you are suffering and pledge the help of the nation is a positive moment in what is other wise the worst time of your life.

Jeez

Grow up and provide a link to the BS above

Sorry, I haven't figured out how to do a link on this phone but it's on The Hill right now...

...or you can just Google "Donald Trump crowd size" and see the link to the hill column entitled: "Donald Trump praises crowd size while touring Harvey damage". It should be the 2nd one down.

Oh, I did. And it wasn't quite as childish as you inferred.

Left out the other parts as well. Not surprised at all about that.

And people were there to protest him.

How pathetic is your life that your state is facing a major disaster and you choose to do that in your free time?

You have to be worried that the first time he gets out there on stage at a rally event, where his staff can't control everything he saying and the crowd is roaring, he's going to succumb and take credit for it. It's just who he is. A braggart. Obnoxious. Massive ego.

Remember that time Obama let the Navy Seals get credit for killing Bin Laden? Oh wait, Obama took credit for it.

LG? You are trying to throw the sheep a bone but going way too far. During the press conference while seated next to Gov. Abbott, Trump had to fight the urge to start throwing congratulations around the room. As if something had been won. He caught himself with a "We can't start saying congratulations yet.." but he said enough. It's clear that regardless of what happens between now and when the recovery begins, Trump has made up his mind that everything in the Hurricane Harvey relief effort was a rousing success with each and every agency in perfect coordination with each other... and the person who deserves the most credit for this- will be himself. His victory tour speech has already been written. He is just waiting for the right time to give it and he will hit all of the usual talking points while giving it: His coordinating and planning was essential and far superior to that of any President's best efforts before him... most especially Barack Obama's.
^^^^ BB85's insanity on display.
Too bad. So sad.

to Trump. It just makes you look stupid....Oh, right....

Trump is the biggest asshat in the history of the universe. His wife wears stiletto heels to an epic flood, while Trump brags about a crowd and brags about a relief effort that remains in the very earliest stages--and apparently he has yet to say a word about the dead or homeless. It's all about Trump. Somebody try to tell us that's not true...You can't.

I agree that this is a stupid argument. However let's not compare the two. Having lived in Nashville at the time it does not compare to what is going on in Houston. If you are criticizing the First Ladies foot wear you are a moron.

Exactly. Criticizing the foot wear may be the dumbest thing anyone can do. (Well armchair is doing it, so that explains it all).

Exactly. BB cynicism is almost on highchair level. I get he doesnt like Trump but its beyond pathetic. Trump shows up, talks to the victims, pledges help and he gets blasted for it. If Trump didnt show up, he would get blasted for it.

Man I swear you couldn't resist making this damn flooding situation political. 99% of the time I'll bash DT but of all the crap you could have done when a natural disaster is being dealt with is ***** about what he's doing....Man STFU!!! Do you have a better suggestion on how to get rid of 11 trillion gallons of water??
