Trump's Harvey response

The plan for dealing with the effects and aftermath of a catastrophic hurricane has been in place for years. Trump could have slept through it (and probably did) on the couch and the response would have been the same.

All Trump did was use it for cover as he implemented more of his racist and and anti minority agenda. (the pardon and transgender military ban)

Good grief..... had your Queen Hillary won the election.... you'd be fapping over the greatness of her reaction the hurricane .... you're a disgusting hack

You wouldn't sound quite so ignorant if you went back and studied the time line for Katrina, paying close attention to when the LA governor asked for FEMA help. I assume you do know that the president has to be asked for disaster help before the feds can go in.

She got busted on an open mic regarding this but the media swept it under the rug for the most part.

You know, there's a time for jokes and a time to reflect that the clothing that woman and child are wearing might be the only thing in the world they have left.

Just a thought...
I would blow my brains out if I worried about all the bad stuff in the world. I'll deal with it the way I deal with it.

I don't mind the levity. Those folks affected are unaware of what is said here.

That pic hit me because it reminded me of what would be important to me if I were in the same circumstance. My wife and my child(ren). All the material stuff we've worked so hard for would pale in comparison.

It hits closer to home for me. I've known families that lost everything in hurricanes.

Yes, all democrats did that. All of them. 100%. Kanye West is the spokesperson for every democrat, no exceptions.

Ah just like all republicans and Trump supporters are idiots and racists? David Duke is the spokesperson for every republican, no exceptions.

.....and I donated 3 apartments full of furniture to families that lost everything in a big tornado here about 10-12 years ago, and I didn't even know them. I just knew they needed help.

Harvey looks to be in a holding pattern too. I hope the worst is over buy I fear it isnt.

Locked between a rock and a hard place. It's going to dump everything before moving on. I did happen to notice the track was going to send it north-northeast into Louisiana and Arkansas. That could cause more problems if it continues dumping rain.

And there's another tropical storm that's going to skirt the East Coast over the next couple of days.

Weather in Nashville supposed to be bad Fri and Sat...related to Harvey, I guess. And McMom wants to go see mcdaughter for LD weekend.

Yes and no. There were a slips prior to Bush 43 that could have helped mitigate the level of destruction we saw, the replacements on the levees and whatnot that was put off for example, but you are correct the city, state and federal response wasn't prepared for what they encountered.

Katrina exemplified the saying "experience is a cruel teacher, gives the exam first and then the lesson." And a lot of hard lessons learned were put into practice to streamline responses in the future. Rita was a good example of the trial and error, but Sandy even more so. The response this time is really about ten years of preparation and planning which is now being put into practice. And, as stated before, seems to be going okay at the moment.

Also, there were worse hurricanes than Katrina that should have helped the preparation plans.

My best friend lives in New Orleans and he is worried about rain. He said the huge pumps that the city uses are broken.

That isn't good at all this storm is gonna dump tons into the Miss River and its feeder rivers (tributaries?)

Bush's FEMA director had NO emergency-management experience--bit of a problem. Trump is just an enormous tone-deaf idiot, and anybody with half a brain knows it, including many, now, in his administration. Tillerson seemed to take a shot at him during a TV interview today. Trump is Mr. 'everything's going great!"

So, are you saying the response to Hurricane Harvey is not going well? Or are you just making a post because you felt left out of the thread?

Ok.... here's how I see it.... they were forecasting 36" of rain for a very large area....over two to three days.... at some point people should be able to figure out.... this is going to be a freaking quagmire and gtfo of there no later than sunrise on Friday morning....

I believe the more you've been through, the more likely you are to think this way.
I have seen more dead people than 99% of the population, so I am pretty immune by now. The funeral home guys once had a contest (with betting involved) to see who could make the best ear for someone who got the side of their head torn off in a wreck.

That's a real pretty picture 72..... now I'm gonna have nightmares ..... you don't tell this kind of thing at bedtime
