Bad speech by Kennedy. Though the criticism of Trump and his approach is legitimate, rather than attack it, the Dems need to offer an alternative.

So for example, instead of just complaining that the wealthy are getting wealthier while the workers get crumbs, they should be saying that they will support tax reform to give much better long term relief to the middle class.

Offer solutions, not just complaints.

I really want to see the mainstream media talk about all this doom and gloom by Kennedy. Let's see if they can do this the same way they dogged Trump over and over for it.

Yes, although in fairness they’re all pretty much terrible. The only truly exceptional sotu response I’ve heard was by Jim Webb in 2007.

I don’t know why the Dems don’t understand that trump and the republicans are against illegal immigration and not all immigration. It isn’t hard. Stop lying.

The purpose of the rebuttal is generally just to attack. There isn't enough time to do much else. He hit some main points and did okay. There were no water breaks or mispronunciations. That's all that tends to be remembered from the rebuttal side.

Trump on the telepromoter gave the speech you thought he would. Democrats and Republicans are responding just like you thought they would. A Kennedy gave the response you thought he would.
