TrumpPutingate III: the beginning of the end

I do think that it is fair to ask the next SCt nominee that he/she agree to recuse themselves if any issue comes up in a Trump case, i.e. whether he can be indicted or forced to testify to the grand jury.


I expect they might not answer, but I think in turn that it would justify a no vote in confirmation hearings.

She is already on the Court. Plus, she would not be beholden to Trump, who insists on loyalty agreements, for her seat. A new nominee would doubtless have been cornered on such a pledge, one way or another, by the Trump Mafia.

No but she has proven she has a bias against the President

So what? Those comments could as easily have come from McConnell, Rubio, Cruz, Ryan, or even Melania.


The Justices are human. They are going to have opinions of Trump, or anyone else for that matter, that comes before them. There is an enormous difference between that and having to sit in judgment of the person that gave you the very job that has you sitting in judgment of them.

I'm just saying that the fact that she is outspoken about her dislike for him is not as significant a problem as having someone take a job from Trump today, then make a decision as to Trump's own future tomorrow.


Meanwhile, it is interesting that we've heard nothing about Trump doing a sit down with Mueller or being subpoenaed to the grand jury. Rudy upped his meds and has otherwise been kept under wraps.


You get the sense that there is a lot of positioning going on and that we are going to see something major very soon, one way or the other.

Imagine if all reporters and their editors and management were made to understand that facts matter, and even more so that a true balanced news report has to include fact that they personally would rather bury. Won't happen though because opinion has replaced reason, and libs are gonna liberate the news.
