Trump’s Lawyers, in Confidential Memo, Argue to Head Off a Historic Subpoena

"The letter also lays out a series of claims that foreshadow a potential subpoena fight that could unfold in the months leading into November’s midterm elections."

They have nothing on Trump so far, so they're going to try to subpoena him in order to forcibly extract/fabricate some kind of bogus charge. As a matter of fact, the special counsel wants this subpoena to happen because they know Trump has a big mouth and can easily nab him on a perjury charge. It's absolutely unreal how badly they want to take down this president.

Also, notice the timing of this. They're intentionally setting this up in order to provide democraps with ammunition heading into the midterms. The utter partisanship involved with this investigation is unreal and is only a small testament to just how corrupt our government has become.

You can't blame this on anyone other than Trump. He said repeatedly that he wants to testify and that it's all a hoax. Should be a cakewalk for him.

You damn well know what they did to Flynn after he willingly testified. They are going to do the same to Trump if he agrees to this interview.

Furthermore, last I checked, Trump is the President of the United States. If he wants to back out of an interview after being informed by his lawyers, it is well within his constitutional right to do so. Mueller obviously wants this interview so desperately bad, hence why he wants to subpoena him.

If Mueller subpoenas Trump right before the mid-terms he’s exposing himself and the investigation for what it is.

He was president when he made the comments that he wants to do the interview.

And unless I misunderstand you, you are saying the reason he should dodge it is because he's too stupid and arrogant to not lie. That's a remarkable opinion you have of your guy.
