The person who should care about it the most is Sen. Bernie Sanders... and yet most of the people who bring this up are Republicans and it's not because they care but because they think they can score political points with this topic and deflect from their own problems that Trump has caused.

And there is a problem with you first sentence: Sanders is not a Democrat but rather an Independent who caucuses with the Democrats. That's not exactly the same thing as one of "your own people".

exact same thing could be said about Trump not belonging to the Rs. everyone in the DNC should care that their leadership is making a mockery of the election process. any time the popular vote comes up, this matters. any time anything shady by Trump comes up, this is relevant. every time anyone wonders how we ended up with fricking Trump elected, this matters.

the two parties are playing the people, and once it got proven on one side it gets ignored for the same political reasons that you brought up. they both do it. zero doubt the Rs are just as bad. different sides of the same coin and all of that. anyone who pretends to care about elections, popular or electorate, or what America stands for it should matter.

only in politics do we allow this nonsense.

It doesn't matter what I believe. Selling access and influence has been going on, well probably since Washington and isn't illegal. Disgusting but not illegal.
