TrumpPutingate III: the beginning of the end

The Cohen raid wasn't conducted by Mueller's team, was it?

I read it as Rosenstein overstepped. Again.

If the raid was explicitly deemed outside of the Mueller investigation then it doesn’t fall outside of Sessions realm of responsibility. He is after all the head of DOJ. Thus ultimate authority did not stop at Rosenstein so why he did choose to approve such a precedent setting raid instead of letting the person with ultimate authority decide?

They are simply asking was Sessions even consulted or made aware of the raid since it is after all his department.

If I was Sessions I would stay away. I think he wants to keep his job. How many days do you think he would last if he did recuse himself?

This has nothing to do with Sessions being an Trump campaign surrogate. No recusal necessary, it’s a false narrative to conjure up a conspiracy.

Read it the same.

Lol. I’m sure they had ‘no’ knowledge, guidance or influence in any capacity.

Why not issue a subpoena? Total method to the madness, I mean come on. A no-knock raid? They treated Cohen like a gangster murdering international racketeering money launder.

Mueller ain’t a ‘good’ guy choir boy.

Establishment DC types who reflexively defend Mueller haven't explained how they came to trust him so completely. It's a question worth asking given the bumpy historical record of Mueller's tenure as FBI director.

Revealed: Mueller's FBI Repeatedly Abused Prosecutorial Discretion

As former judge and Attorney General Michael Mukasey wrote in the Wall Street Journal this week, “Mr. Mueller is not a bad man, nor is Mr. Comey. It’s just that both show particular confidence when making mistakes, which makes one grateful for safeguards like the attorney-client privilege.”

The media should not be so quick to gloss over these mistakes solely because of anti-Trump animus. Journalists who take their role seriously should be skeptical of powerful government institutions and how they can abuse their authority.

Ah, I gotcha.

They were likely concerned he would destroy evidence.

Giuliani: Trump is innocent and definitely did not engage in collusion with Russians.

Casual Observer: Huh? How do you know this? Did you secretly review all Mueller's files?

Guiliani: Donald told me so.

Several people on your side of the aisle said there isn't any evidence of collusion

I agree. I've seen no hard evidence to date. I doubt Trump was dumb enough to not have created enough space between him and anyone who may have actually done something. Plausible deniability. But that doesn't mean that collusion didn't occur. Maybe we'll hear what Mueller has to say about this someday.

After the mid-terms as designed.

MOSCOW — The Russian lawyer who met with Trump campaign officials in Trump Tower in June 2016 on the premise that she would deliver damaging information about Hillary Clinton has long insisted she is a private attorney, not a Kremlin operative trying to meddle in the presidential election.

But newly released emails show that in at least one instance two years earlier, the lawyer, Natalia V. Veselnitskaya, worked hand in glove with Russia’s chief legal office to thwart a Justice Department civil fraud case against a well-connected Russian firm.

Ms. Veselnitskaya also appears to have recanted her earlier denials of Russian government ties. During an interview to be broadcast Friday by NBC News, she acknowledged that she was not merely a private lawyer but a source of information for a top Kremlin official, Yuri Y. Chaika, the prosecutor general.

Can you explain why she met with Fusion GPS before and after the meeting at Trump Tower?
