One day you need to take a civics class. The house votes for impeachment and for lack of a better description is an indictment. The senate then holds a trial and either convicts or acquits.

We've had two presidents impeached but none convicted.

He uses fake news variably to refer to actual false reports and reports that are accurate but unflattering. It's part of his strategy to muddy the waters and control the message. I honestly don't believe him anymore. Fact is that multiple sources, including Fox, have since verified the story and, knowing Trump, it's totally believable.

He did not want to fire Mueller, he just questioned several conflicts of interest. That's a different narrative.
