That is your misconception. They didn't wipe anything (that I'm aware) and they didn't rebuild the "hardware". They created the images and the hardware (server, HD's) stayed operational. When they say "rebuilt" they are saying they uploaded the images to a virtual environment which then could be used for analysis. I've done this whenever I've had to add a new server to the network to test for issues before the actual hardware is put on the live network.

I accept that the Russians were behind the data theft. Obviously some of you do not.

Got proof? Because what you said is BS!

If you believe your server has malware you wipe it and reinstall scrubbed data. You dont leave the damn thing online.

“completely rebuilt the servers”. This may be where I'm not on the same page as what you are trying to say. Are you saying they rebuilt the DNC servers? I was taking it as they reconstructed them from the images for the FBI to evaluate. Would you post the link to that info?

It was in tweet chains i was chasing last night. That Michael Guy person is a professional in data forensics. He is also partisan. He was debating another partisan from across the isle. “Completely rebuilt the servers” came up in that tweet chain. It was used in the context of wiping the drives and then reinstalling apps and data. It wasn’t used in the context of building up new hardware from the ground level.

I saw no reference to the data provided to the FBI as the basis for the rebuild. Frankly we all don’t know. Only Crowdstrike has physically touched the servers or the logical partitions on those servers.

This won’t go anywhere. The FBI doesn’t want it to happen either as it will point to their lack of investigative tenacity in this case. They are in damage control mode on this one. Bongino and the others know it too and are just beating them over the head.

Pure speculation on my part. This is why the Weiner laptop was so critical and why Comey ran his mouth in the fall of 2016. It had nothing to do with protecting Hillary. Not at that point. That had already been done earlier. It had everything to do with protecting the image of the FBI. Data comparison results between the Weiner laptop and the Crowdstrike supplied data most likely scares the **** out of the FBI and they want it to go away.

One day a few years down the road somebody from FBI cyber is going to talk. And it won’t be attractive I bet.

I don't see anything that would make me question the actions of one of the best cyber security firms in America nor have I seen anything to make me question our IC's conclusion that Russia was behind the theft. Good discussion. :hi:

The funny thing is you libs eat up these stories like this is something relevant or important.

The majority of people in the US are not racist. No significant percentage of American people identify with this.

It's silly. Supporting President Trump isn't racist.
