TrumpPutingate III: the beginning of the end

A couple of reports I've read suggest the Russian operation was smart enough to target swing states in the Midwest. One of the things Mueller is investigating is whether or not a voting/marketing company owned by Kusher helped them know where to target or whether they gathered that information on their own.

Ive also been hearing that Trump never actually wanted to win the presidency. His candidacy was a PR stunt for his business dealings.

I know what you said and resigning is a far cry from finishing his term and not running again.

You would think that a lawyer that nit picks words in Court would use the proper language. Obviously he sucks, must’ve failed the Bar exam but claims to be a lawyer.

He chooses his words carefully. It wasn't a mistake.

You know, I found out something interesting today. The ONLY member of the House to actually view the FISA warrant application, which is reportedly 50 pagers long, was Gowdy.

And yet, it was Gowdy who then over the weekend took all the wind out of Trump's claim that the dossier usage somehow proves the entire investigation is tainted. Gowdy says point blank that one has nothing to do with the other.

And now Gowdy is planning not to run again.

What did he see in that application that made him 1) completely contradict Trump's claims; and 2) make him want to resign before the s hits the fan for Trump?

You lack knowledge, once again.

Nunes followed The Procedures set forth by the Department of Justice that allows one (as in the number 1) member of Congress and an investigator to read the applications in a secure room.

Rep. John Ratcliffe (R-Texas), a member of the House Judiciary Committee, said it is fair to point out that not every relevant fact was included in the memo. Even so, he said the document is accurate.

“As someone who has viewed the underlying documents, the story ends the same way,” he said.

Ratcliffe said Nunes’ choice, Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.), was an excellent one.

“Why wouldn’t you send over Trey Gowdy?” he asked. “Why wouldn’t you send over the best lawyer in Congress, a lawyer who has viewed hundreds, if not thousands, [of] agent declarations, affidavits, and submissions to federal courts? Why wouldn’t you send a guy who knows exactly what he’s looking for, what would pass the smell test and what wouldn’t?”

Yeah I was very surprised by his public response as well. This is the same guy who was all over the Benghazi case. Curious.

If you will take your blinders off, and look at him as an honest man who just wants to do his job in Congressional oversight, Judiciary, etc. , none of this will surprise you. They should all be like Gowdy in wanting to find the truth.

Trey Gowdy is a defender of the constitution and the separation of powers also. If you have 5 minutes, watch his impassioned speech about executive overreach. It tells you all you need to know about Gowdy. You folks on the left find him partisan because most of what you have seen from him has been directed at Democrats. He also gets on Republicans.

More from Trump's speech. Full of lies - scaring his base with flat out lies. Typical

"But believe it or not Nancy Pelosi and those in Congress who want to raise your taxes, they want to raise your taxes," Trump said. "They don't want to give the money to the military you know, without the military we might not be here, or might not be here for long, believe me. Believe us all."

He continued: "Nancy Pelosi, what she's doing to this country. And she's gone so far left and (Chuck) Schumer has gone so far left. Oh, I look forward to running against them. We've got to do well in '18 and I know we're going to do well in '20, but I think we're going to do well in '18. I think we're going to do well in '18. I think we're going to do very well. They have gone left. They want to raise your taxes."

If you read the above quotes and find him to be lucid and well spoken, if you judge him to be even remotely trying to bring the two sides together, if you find that to be the kind of speech appropriate for a president of the US, then I've got to question his base.

I have never said this president was well spoken. He speaks off the cuff and sounds like a child when doing so. He was a necessary evil to stop the attempted coup d'état of the Democratic Party. 7 years later you will be used to it.

At least he doesn’t stutter.

1) Disgusted by what he has seen first hand in the swamp, and knows there's nothing he can do about it without having his name smeared.

2) Take on another job where he can make a difference.

My wife bought me a copy of Fire and Fury when it came out and I'm finally getting around to reading it. Here is an excerpt from the prologue.

"But Ailes was convinced that Trump had no political beliefs or backbone. The fact that Trump had become the ultimate avatar of Fox's angry common man was another sign that we were living in an upside-down world. The joke was on somebody - and Ailes thought it might be on him."

"Trump's rise to power, Ailes understood, was the improbable triumph of many things that Ailes and Fox News represented. After all, Ailes was perhaps the person most responsible for unleashing the angry-man currents of Trump's victory; he had invented the right-wing media that delighted in the Trump character."

The swamp. Funny. The idea of draining the swamp is fundamentally flawed, as this is the very nature of politics. It makes for nice, empty campaign promises and fodder for fat conservative talk show hosts, but that's that's the extent of it.

It's a waste of time & money for you. The book is a fantasy made up of lies & false fabrications to smear an unpopular President (to a minority of voters) & some will believe it's totally true & will also believe it hook line & sinker (hateful nazi left-wing loons). Book was written by an idiot that's delusional of the highest kind. If you like reading fantasy books that contain lies & untruths you'll enjoy having it in your collection.
