Maybe Trey Gowdy? Seems like a possibility
White House Spox: Trump's Lawyers in Favor of Second Special Counsel to Investigate FBI, DOJ Corruption During 2016 Election
A couple of reports I've read suggest the Russian operation was smart enough to target swing states in the Midwest. One of the things Mueller is investigating is whether or not a voting/marketing company owned by Kusher helped them know where to target or whether they gathered that information on their own.
You know, I found out something interesting today. The ONLY member of the House to actually view the FISA warrant application, which is reportedly 50 pagers long, was Gowdy.
And yet, it was Gowdy who then over the weekend took all the wind out of Trump's claim that the dossier usage somehow proves the entire investigation is tainted. Gowdy says point blank that one has nothing to do with the other.
And now Gowdy is planning not to run again.
What did he see in that application that made him 1) completely contradict Trump's claims; and 2) make him want to resign before the s hits the fan for Trump?

If you will take your blinders off, and look at him as an honest man who just wants to do his job in Congressional oversight, Judiciary, etc. , none of this will surprise you. They should all be like Gowdy in wanting to find the truth.Yeah I was very surprised by his public response as well. This is the same guy who was all over the Benghazi case. Curious.
Trey Gowdy is a defender of the constitution and the separation of powers also. If you have 5 minutes, watch his impassioned speech about executive overreach. It tells you all you need to know about Gowdy. You folks on the left find him partisan because most of what you have seen from him has been directed at Democrats. He also gets on Republicans. If you will take your blinders off, and look at him as an honest man who just wants to do his job in Congressional oversight, Judiciary, etc. , none of this will surprise you. More from Trump's speech. Full of lies - scaring his base with flat out lies. Typical
"But believe it or not Nancy Pelosi and those in Congress who want to raise your taxes, they want to raise your taxes," Trump said. "They don't want to give the money to the military you know, without the military we might not be here, or might not be here for long, believe me. Believe us all."
He continued: "Nancy Pelosi, what she's doing to this country. And she's gone so far left and (Chuck) Schumer has gone so far left. Oh, I look forward to running against them. We've got to do well in '18 and I know we're going to do well in '20, but I think we're going to do well in '18. I think we're going to do well in '18. I think we're going to do very well. They have gone left. They want to raise your taxes."
If you read the above quotes and find him to be lucid and well spoken, if you judge him to be even remotely trying to bring the two sides together, if you find that to be the kind of speech appropriate for a president of the US, then I've got to question his base.

My wife bought me a copy of Fire and Fury when it came out and I'm finally getting around to reading it. Here is an excerpt from the prologue.
"But Ailes was convinced that Trump had no political beliefs or backbone. The fact that Trump had become the ultimate avatar of Fox's angry common man was another sign that we were living in an upside-down world. The joke was on somebody - and Ailes thought it might be on him."
"Trump's rise to power, Ailes understood, was the improbable triumph of many things that Ailes and Fox News represented. After all, Ailes was perhaps the person most responsible for unleashing the angry-man currents of Trump's victory; he had invented the right-wing media that delighted in the Trump character."

1) Disgusted by what he has seen first hand in the swamp, and knows there's nothing he can do about it without having his name smeared.
2) Take on another job where he can make a difference.
