Trump to allow local police to have military gear

This issue has always confused me a bit. While I suppose it is at least theoretically possible that law enforcement could, in the most extreme circumstances (and I mean EXTREMELY RARELY), need high capacity magazines, what is the need for a private citizen to have access to a magazine that holds more than say, 15 rounds?

Simple. Do criminals have access to weapons that have magazines that hold 15+ rounds? Do gang members, cartel associates, mobsters and the like have access to those type of weapons?

If the answer to both of those questions is an irrefutable NO, then there is no need. However, if criminals can get their hands on weapons like that, a private citizen should have no trouble getting weapons that at least are equal to what a criminal can attain.

The problem with your logic is obvious. The reason citizens need such firepower is to combat criminals who have such firepower purely as a result of citizens having it.

That's mentally lazy. I would paint the picture but man you have gone off the rails stupid. You should fix that.

When you have made the statement that the owner of a stolen weapon should be held liable for a crime committed with said stolen weapon, your ability to use logic is forever terminated.

Dude LG has stated much dumber things than that. LG has said that the owner of a firearm should be criminally liable for a crime even if the firearm is stolen. So if you legally owned a 9mm, I stole it, committed a felony with it, you should be held liable as well. For the simple fact that you owned the weapon.
