Bingo. Fair trade. Not UNFAIR trade. We gotta have a negotiation tool, right now we have no way to combat tariffs abroad, while we charge nada. It’s simple, they’ll learn and it’ll be fair(er) for ALL.

Yep...Trump should continue to make American producers more competitive in global markets through tax, regulatory, energy, and other pro-America policy changes that bring jobs and capital back to the United States. That is happening at a furious pace right now as Trump has made America almost overnight the best and most reliable place in the world to invest.

Jim Cramer (a big liberal) said these tariffs won’t hurt anyone’s business and will actually lead to China shutting down some of their old/dirty/inefficient steel mills.

He's usually pretty on point regarding stocks, but to think a 25% tariff on our distant 11th steel importer is going to significantly impact them is silly. We're small potatoes on China's steel export list. Aluminum, though, is a different story (China is 4th). Of course, the proposed tariff there is only 10%. I doubt that's going to have much influence. We'll still buy plenty of aluminum from China. We'll just pay more for it. To think domestic aluminum production will see significant gains due to this is laughable.
