Trump Open to "Softening" on Immigration Laws

Well hell. You mean he ain't gonna build the wall and make Mexico pay for it?

That's also kinda different from the point. He can say those are his intentions knowing it will never happen, but i think it's a whole 'nother level of politicking to claim intent on completely opposing notions.

Just funny the peanut gallery moans about how radical and extreme his views are in immigration and then guffaws when he suggests he'd be willing to compromise. Bottom line, he'll be a hell of a lot better on immigration than Hillary or Gary Johnson or Jill Stein. Not even close.

Yea that's what's happening. It's just another example of trump supporters showing they don't give a crap about what trump believes. They are voting for him bc they want to throw a temper tantrum. It's ok though. Thanks to you guys we get to enjoy Hillary. So great legacy Trumpers. You did it!

He should contact the creator of Game of Thrones and ask how they built their wall...it was thousands of miles long and I think about 700 feet high...made of pure ice....He can hire the Nights Watch to man the wall.

The Wall is a colossal fortification which stretches for 100 leagues (300 miles) along the northern border of the Seven Kingdoms, defending the realm from the wildlings who live beyond.

That's not really the point of this thread. People like Trump bc "he doesn't act like a politician" and here he has completely refuted that notion. He's lying/pandering to at least one group, if not both.

So what? Every candidate panders. So Trump hasnt kept his word? What candidate has? He still is much more qualified to run this country than HRC.

But Trumps whole appeal is he is not part of the establishment, wasn't pandering, and telling it like it is. Seems he is throwing that by the wayside and becoming exactly what he was campaigning against. Its hard not to question the intelligence of Trumps base. I hate to say that, but its true. They are being sold on a marketing plan, not a political platform.

The GOP needs a reformation something awful. I really think this ridiculous and unnecessary stance on social issues is becoming the death nail of the party. Look at how Gary Johnson is polling among younger voters. People want a fiscally conservative, socially libertarian candidate. If given the choice, it seems more are placing freedom in personal lives over fiscal responsibility. As soon as the GOP drops the family values crap, I really feel like they can start running away with elections.

Despite popular opinion, millennials and Gen X'ers polling suggests the the debt (and deficit) are huge issues and they are starving for a candidate that is serious about it. At the same time, they want issues like homosexual marriages and marijuana legalization to be non issues. When it comes to the traditional social issue stuff, the GOP needs to drop that crap and stand on the side of liberty. There is a huge section of the Democratic base ripe for the taking, they are just too stupid to realize it and instead buying into memes of reality stars talking about walls and self-inflating egos.
