What's worse, the same foundation that was raking in the money prior to election is now shutting down due to no funds coming in.

my question for volprof is, how can countries suddenly stop wanting to help poor nations after the election?

On your first point, yes, that is correct. I knowingly voted for someone I think should be in prison. I voted for her, because, of my two legitimate choices, she was by far the lesser threat.
