Trump cancels Singapore nuclear summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un

Of course not, don't be an idiot.

Trump did, just a few weeks ago.

Because he's an idiot.

BS. You know how this kind of thing works - first a high level meeting for agreement in principle; then the other guys come in and hammer out details. Sometimes it falls apart especially if you have the wrong guys hammering out the details - like I probably wouldn't use a Bolton in this case - save him for when you need a pit bull.

Sometimes it falls apart - like with the Vietnamese - if one side is just playing for time. We'll eventually see what game the NK's are playing, but expect Chinese sabotage - they want to control that hemisphere and keep NK on their leash.

This is silly. It looks like you don't even understand what Islam is. It applies broadly to the religion of Muslims; not just to radicals. Per Pew Research, among the 1.6 billion Muslims in the world, and "according to the best experts, think tanks around the world, they say at most, 100,000 people are fighting for jihadist causes. That is a fraction of 1 percent".

It is exactly the kind of lazy labeling that Trump is fostering.

That may be true, but the plague of terrorism is almost 100% Islamic these days, so why aren't the 99+% of peace loving Muslims reeling it in? Then there is the intolerant stuff like Sharia law. When religion runs states, it almost never turns out well - doesn't matter if it's Iran or Ireland or Islamic sects vying for power in a place like Iraq.

Saying that Kim Jong Un "loves his people" isn't asslicking? :ermm:

True, but the appeasement kind involves a tongue, and the other kind involves a whip. Michelle likely used a whip and Obama his tongue like a good little appeaser.

It's also what-about-ism. In this case, what-about-Obama. It's a logical fallacy that attempts to discredit an opponent's position by charging them with hypocrisy without directly refuting or disproving their argument. My argument is that Trump is a habitual liar. Pointing out an Obama lie does nothing to counter that argument.

:hi:

Trumps a billionaire.

He has used people, lied to people, walked over people to get what he wants. I like him because his wants mirror mine mostly.

Now do u have the guts to admit your supreme leader was lieing sack of shyt too?

Trump just tweeted that "There is no longer a Nuclear Threat from North Korea". That is getting ahead of yourself just a bit, Donny. Kim has to love this blind trust he is getting. It will be interesting to see how well that tweet ages. That's one to remember for sure.

How about using a red line or a reset button? Those are real effective

I think he was pointing out that they all lie but somehow you only care when the liar doesn't represent your views.

Ahh, more what-about-ism... How about waiting until North Korea is no longer a nuclear threat to say that they are no longer a nuclear threat? Trump should consider how that tweet will be interpreted in the DPRK. How eager, in light of that, should they be to ever consent to U.N. inspections? After all, they already have the trust of our president before they have even begun de-nuclearizing. This is a master negotiator? Sure, it is!

What makes our "allies" allies? What have they done for us?

Factoring both goods and services (Trump just likes to cite goods), the United States has a trade surplus with Canada (and a trade deficit with the rest of the world). Trump likes to talk about dairy for some reason. We also have a trade surplus in dairy with Canada.

Wondering how many here who are pro Iran deal would take the same deal with NK?

1. Can keep developing missiles and other delivery systems.
2. Has to put nukes on hold for 10 years but can keep equipment.
3. Sanctions lifted
4. No other conditions (eg. terrorism sponsoring, human rights, etc.)

I guess everyone missed this post.

There is no “they” with NK. There is only 1 man that makes the decisions.

So you were/are part of Obama's tribe, conditioned to accept his lies and be okay with them? Using your logic, it's not Trump's lies that bother you, it's that you're not in his "tribe". In otherwords, you hate him because you're a liberal and he isn't.

At least you admit it's entirely political. Still don't understand someone who would put personal politics before their country, but at least you're being honest about it.

I don't know why everyone is so upset at this "deal." There is no deal. We haven't abandoned our positions. We simply have put a hold on joint training exercises. The way I view this is that the real substantive talks are yet to come. I always view sitting down at the table as a good sign.

I'm not giving a dissertation. If the subject is trade, Canada is a more than equitable partner in spite of what Trump says.

If this is true, then why not end all tariffs between the 2 nations? In reality what you're saying is false. Canada has over 20000 tariffs on our products.

They’re upset because Trump is the one behind it, you’re 100% correct in the rest of your statement.

Different circumstances. DPRK's nuclear capacity is considerably more advanced by all accounts. The Iran deal was admittedly light... but there is no reason to be light with the DPRK. They are so much more isolated.

Tribalism works just as much for Democrats as it does for Republicans. Also, it's very easy to be skeptical of Trump if you are open to seeing him for what he is. One example: When pressed by reporters, Trump added that human rights abuses in North Korea were discussed 'briefly'. Later, in the same day and perhaps sensing that his previous answer wasn't what people wanted to hear, he amended it to human rights were discussed 'at pretty good length'. Who the hell knows what was discussed? Trump lies, talks in circles and frequently contradicts himself. How does one trust anything he says unless you are a member of his tribe and have conditioned yourself to accepting and even defending his lies and contradictions?

You damn yourself with your own words. You hate Trump because he's not in your "tribe". At the end of the day, what do you put first between your country and your politics? Thus far, you've been choosing politics. Hoping Trump fails certainly isn't putting the country first. If the exact set same of circumstances happened under a Democrat, you'd be singing their praises. Your post talking about "tribalism" pretty much admits it.

You have your priorities screwed up. And for the record, you can still dislike Trump yet cheer him on in this endeavor. In this case, it's not about the man, it's about what he's trying to accomplish. What he's trying to do is of far more importance than your petty Trump hatred.

There was no reason to be light with Iran, yet you were okay with it because Obama.

You didn't get the memo? ... Trump sent a tweet an hour ago that clearly spells it out "There is no longer a Nuclear Threat from North Korea".

Mission Accomplished, baby!
