I don't know about zero, but I doubt there will be serious effects. We will miss out on qualified candidates for sure, though. A la SOCS Kristin Beck.

The bigger point is why people are so weirded out that someone who is different from you is literally willing to die for your freedom.

I know someone that is trans. Used to be a man and had the operation. He/she is really a good person and someone I could trust for help if I needed it. That being said, he/she is mentally ill. Gender confusion is a disorder and used to be defined as such by all the major psychologist groups. Only recently have people tried to change the facts regarding it.

Cite credible sources along with a detailed definition of A) what a mental illness actually is, B) Diagnostic criteria, C) show a good understanding of how diagnostic criteria is met.

Now, there's a psychiatrist who makes a compelling argument, but you're not him and you're offering no compelling argument except "we used to do it."

Saying "we used to classify it as a mental disorder" is not a good argument. We used to diagnose women with hysteria for dumb reasons, but because we USED to doesn't mean we still should.

Yeah, I remember how the slaves got paid and had insurance and the GI Bill and such. Such an awful period.

Sometimes it's necessary. Vietnam wasn't one of those times, but WWII definitely was. Implementing the draft gets the public to care more about the war. Like it or not, it's a valuable tool.

We have access to more information now than at any point in the past. So if we used to define it that way, and then consciously decided to stop doing that, that should tell you something.

Pay doesn't mean you are not a slave. If I hold you against your will and force you to work but also give you x amount of money, you're still a slave. No matter how will you treat your slaves, if they're forced to work against their will, they are still slaves.

And no. There's literally no time a draft is necessary. Wars should only be faught if they are the will of the people. If it's the will of the people to fight a war, they will enlist freely.

Lol and if you believe a draft makes the public care more about a war you're out of your mind. It only outrages the public.

Problem isn't the same as illness. Cognitive dissonance is a problem and it's not an illness.
