Trump Bans Transgenders in Military

Seems like your beef is with people who don't conform to either gender, not trans people

Beef? My issue is that we shouldn't be playing this strange game of pretend. If I place a stethoscope around my neck, it doesn't make me a doctor. More importantly, I wouldn't expect society to treat me like I was a doctor.

Most don't claim to be both, never heard that. Though, they do claim to be something they're not. But that's not he issue here.

So, if 8188 wants the military to be made up of people who are either man or woman, and transgender people are either man or woman, he shouldn't have a problem with them in the military. It's not that complicated a point

This is one of those where if the military commanders had a really good reason for a ban then I'd listen but the default position is to allow. It would have to be a good reason with data to support before I'd support such a ban.

OTOH, I don't believe gender reassignment medical coverage should be required medical coverage for military personnel.

Zero elective surgery or treatments should paid for by the taxpayers, period.

How much paid leave do you get at your job for an elective surgery?

Again, you're not seeing the problem. At. All.

The travel ban and this transgender ban are just meaningless political points that scored with Trump humpers who are afraid of others who aren't like them. This **** only makes a difference to the people inconvenienced by it.

If I'm wrong, please share the horror stories of what it's been like for the military to accommodate transgender people.

http://time.com/money/4092680/transgender-surgery-costs/

No horror stories, just cost, however "small". $56M a year currently.
Half a billion over ten.

..."The Philadelphia Center for Transgender Surgery, for instance, lists menus of procedures for both male-to-female transitions and female-to-male that total well over $100,000."...

One can be sure that a person suffering dysphoria from gender identity crisis will often want to proceed with the surgical modifications to their body. But given their typically low income few are able to opt for all the procedures in a "menu" that will give them the highest probability of a positive outcome, that being satisfaction with their new life.

..."transgender Americans are economically vulnerable. 15% report making less than $10,000 a year,"...

The $15,000 to $30,000 for initial body modification surgery I've been seeing is surely a false and exaggeratedly low total expense.

We should expect a huge spike in military transgender enrollment by people only wanting the operations and procedures; having no real desire to serve their country. The $56M now seen is just the tip of the iceberg given total costs involved of secondary surgeries & procedures, hormone maintenance, medical staffing & training. e.g. each person opting for their personal best choices from the "menu" of procedures. It won't be cheap.

This is a medical problem. It should be dealt with outside military purview.

The military should in no way be a place young people suffering from gender identity dysphoria flock to get all the medical procedures they desire because they can not pay for them. Then, after all that investment in a soldier, have them quit the military because that's all they ever wanted anyway.

Uncle Sam's Army and it's Medical Corps IS NOT supposed to be the understanding rich uncle and loving nanny to initiate the operations and shepard trangenders through to their new identity.

However, give a transgender person a suitable number of years after the operation to become emotionally and physically stable,...then if they want to enlist, that is a different situation altogether.

I don't think trans is mental illness. All it takes is one "normal" mind to defeat this claim.

Zeke on Survivor was the most calm and collected person on the island. He made it through his first season without anybody knowing his secret or thinking he was deranged or anything. He demonstrated nothing but calculated and strategic thought and interaction.

On his second season, he was outed by another contestant who figured out his secret. Zeke, who did not want America to know, remained poised and weathered that moment with dignity and class (meanwhile the women are all melting down and crying and calling for the outer's head).

Huff your mind believes you to be something different than what your body is. How is that not a mental problem?

At least we all know how to avoid the draft if liberals get the war with Russia that they want.

MY life was saved on deployment by someone who was trans. The real grunts who do the real work don't effin care if you are trans or gay or straight or bi or whatever, all we care about it getting the job done. Period.

We're going to miss out on a lot of good people this way.

Is it you that hops in and says "anecdotal evidence" all the time? Maybe Zeke , whoever that is, has convinced himself that he isn't what he is, which means he is even more mentally ill.

It would not surprise me if a bunch of "alpha" males decided to mimic their idol and dodge the draft.

Yeah, Clinton did too. Didn't like him either.
