Again, my bad I didn't see it. What's the thread title? I didn't see it. Just seems like it would have been plastered on the front page if it were the newest thread.
I am not saying that. I am saying its smart on his part because he was look at paying in about 2mil before the donation now he is down quite a bit. Plus he gets to chose where the money goes..
1...Let our federal government get more money to totally waste or
2...Make tax deductable donations to charities that are working to do good things.
All wealthy people make big donations to several charities every year and it is a write off that lowers their tax bill to our wasteful federal government.
This was 100% ALL about Pat and what she's trying to get done with her charity.
This was a really GREAT thing for Peyton and his wife to do for Pat.
Anyone that attempts to belittle it is just a moron so ignore those people.
I offer a huge THANK YOU to the Mannings for such a wonderful thing they did to support Pat and her work with the charity she setup.
You do realize that charitable donations simply reduce your taxable income, don't you?
Manning is certainly in the highest bracket of 35%, so he basically reduced is tax bill by $175,000 at the cost of $500,000. While the $500,000 donation actually only cost him $325,000, it was still charitable - very charitable.
The idea that "tax write offs" somehow make something cost nothing is for people that don't ever have them.
