Last Saturday I attended the UF vs UT game. How embarrasing for most of the UT fan base to be sitting on their hands with little enthusiasm halfway through the first quarter! In the first half, several around me are saying, 'We can't even beat a bad Gator team!'. Really??? We are down by 4 pts in the first half. Yet, we have already lost the game. I heard several other comments about how we had lost the game all the way through the game when UT still had a chance to win!!!

Now, we barely beat a bad UAB team. And, several UT fans are saying this team is worse than the 2008 team. Really??? Is this team worse than a 2008 team that only won by 4 vs Northern Illinois, got beat by 24 vs UF, 20 vs UA, 12 vs UGA, 21 vs USC, 4 vs a 5-7 AU team that only beat Louisiana Monroe, Southern Miss, UT Martin, and Miss St by 1 pt, and lost by 6 to a TERRIBLE 4-8 Wyoming team ??? If, you think this team is performing worse and more poorly coached than the 2008 team. You have severe brain damage and should seek immediate physciatric care!!!

Not only did Fulmer leave the cupboard bare. This team is playing with about 12 less scholarship players. This team lost a ton of players to academics, going pro early, and injury before the season started. Now, this team has lost several others to injury in areas where depth was already an issue. This team basically has no center, one defensive tackle, and one of the youngest offensive lines in the country.

Several of you are already calling for the jobs of most of the coaching staff. Yes, this team will be fortunate to win six games this year. But, no coaching staff in the country could do any better! This team is lacking way too much ability on both lines and lacks way too much depth in almost every position. This staff is in YEAR 1.

I would love to be competitive this year too. I am sick and tired of sub par football teams too. But, I am not idiotic enough to conclude the coaching staff is terrible this early into their first season as a staff!

If, you don't want to be supportive of the team. If, you don't want to be supportive of the coaches. If, you don't want to keep your constant negative comments to yourselves, especially at games which rubs off on other fans in attendance. Then, you need to find another team to support. And, when CDD and staff has this team back on top in three to four years. Don't dare come back and support the UT program. UT has no more room for fair weather fans. UT has way more than it's share already!!!

This staff will prove to be more valuable than the 2008 and 2009 staff. But, it is going to take two or three years. If, you can't wait that long. Then, go and support the Trojans, Krispy Kreme, and the CBS pregame show!

Once again, if you can't yell in a positive way for the team while attending a game. If, you can't keep your negative vibes in check while attending a game. If, you feel like UT will lose the game before it is even played or down by less than a TD in the first half. Then, keep your negative azz home and give your tickets to someone who truly wants to support the UT program!!!!!!!

Actually, I honestly think most of the "fair weather" fans are gone. Why would they be hanging around? Fair weather fans follow winners, and then jump off when times get tough. Well it's been tough for the Vol program for some time now, and I think most of the fans that are still around are pretty much die-hard, hard-core followers.

I have not posted on here all season because I guess I was too busy trying not to have an aneurysm. We are four games deep into the season and already there are calls for Coach Dooley's head on a platter. Unbefrigginbelieveable !! Are you people on a rock of crack bigger than the moon or are you just that STUPID ? Did you think that somebody would come in here and in the first season win the SEC ? This is a makeshift team, without a lot of tallent, decimated with injuries, playing in the best league in college football. We were beat by better teams, do any of you believe for one second that we have the tallent of Florida or Oregon ? If you do, well then, you have the brain capacity of gnat testicles. I read those posts and I think, hell, these retards can write .. I am shocked they can put together a coherent sentence. Give the man and his staff time to put together some type of team, then judge his work. Y'all have a great day !! GO VOLS

First of all, true fans post on VN more regularly. Yes, there were plenty of people that thought DD might win the SEC this year. Not me. They are known as "true fans". In fact, I believe someone said, (paraphrase)" until I see this team lose, I believe they are going to win every game. You just never know". Yes, plenty of people around East Tennessee thought UT could run with Oregon and Florida. They didn't. Being realistic has become some kind of sin. Why is it the coaches (DD) fault? I don't know. He didn't do this to the Big orange. Phil Fulmer did.

I will agree that Phil Fulmer did this to the team we love. I don't care to admit I cheered like crazy when we won yesterday, don,t care that it was UAB.. we won didn't we ? I said it at the beginning of the season and will say it agian, if we win more that 4 games I will be both impressed and surprised. The Vols will be back on top in a few years, but we have to be realistic and know it will take that long. Have a great day my fellow vols fan !!

I love how the "true fan" posters claim everyone who is being a "negavol" is bandwagoning.

Yeah, because when I think of a team to bandwagon on, a team that barely beats UAB is just where I'm looking.

People act like they should be rewarded for cheering, and if the team isn't playing well or isn't winning then you don't see the need to cheer. Wrong.

You cheer your team because you want them to win even if they aren't , and you want to support them on their home field regardless of the scoreboard. If your gonna be a fair weather fan and leave during the third quarter then stay the hell home so real fans can get some tickets. Thx

We have tickets in U that we sell because that entire side is a funeral. I sat in D and was embarrassed because of the play but also because of the empty seats.

Yea I had a pretty good seat after all the whiners down in front left. There were plenty of seats at the end of the 3rd for Florida too, but the box office was sold out before game time. Embarassing.

My thanks to the mods for merging this thread into one cesspool. These "I'm a better fan than everyone else" threads are just asinine. We've seen 'em for years now. Nothing ever changes. Ridiculous topic...and that's being polite.

I was disappointed in the crowd noise. Especially on crucial 3rd downs when UT was on defense.
It did pick up a bit in OT.

Sorry students, but you should be called out. 1: for having so many empty seats in the student section. 2: for not being loud at all and 3: continuing the STUPID WAVE when it comes around.

If the crowd is to blame, why was there 95,000 + fans at the game, and no one left. I was too at the game, and I was in the game, backing the team. A non-true fan would have left after the third quarter, but we all stayed around, so do NOT NEVER call me a non-true vol fan.

Nobody likes being mediocre. And I'll be the first to admit that UT has way more than its share of lunatic fans. But get used to Vols fans being pissed off for a while on Saturdays. Because as long as we're playing mediocre football, it's going to continue.

Some of you Vol fans make me wanna puke. We've played 2 top ten teams and I guess you think we should be 4-0. Get real. 4 games into the season playing with so many freshman and a new coaching staff 2-2 is not a bad start. Let the season play out and then judge this team and staff or be a fan of someone else.
