I read that he hasn't spoken to reporters in three weeks. Any insight as to what's going on with him or is this a non-issue?

Rucker said he hasn't been in a good mood since his boy Bray went down..

Who knows.

Maybe he's pissed off that hunter and bray are hurt, that simms has been his qb, that his numbers are down, and that we have been losing, badly.
Just a guess.

If I had to guess I would say it has a lot to do with Simms and getting double covered all the time. His body language wasn't at all subtle last Saturday on a couple of Simms' throws.

From what i have seen. Rogers needs Hunter there, along with Bray. But i think Hunter is good enough to take pressure off everyone. Hunter is our number 1 reciever.

I'm sure none of the players are pleased with the current situation. Some just handle it differently than others I suppose.

I would much prefer him say nothing at all than say something stupid or that he regrets.

I agree with this. He is a competitor, he isn't happy with how things are going, so why not be silent, avoid saying something stupid (if you think that is a risk), and just try to be a good teammate.

It's better than talking about Simms at QB. I know he's pissed getting open only for the ball to sail past you. He's playing better and fighting a lot better right now. He's playing very very physical now at the line of scrimmage. You can see him growing as a receiver. He's developing into a No.1. He's not there yet but he's getting there.

Seems to me he just got a taste of success earlier in the season and recognizes that injuries and things out of his control have prevented him from continuing that success. I don't blame him one bit.

Well, he was gearing up for a stellar season-- lots of press, glory, new records and gaudy stats. Then he lost 2/3 of his winning trifecta and gets doubleteamed every game, with "can't hit a barn" Simms as a bonus. I'd say Da'Rick wavers between very frustrated and mad as hell, so it's probably best to play it low-key for now. Hope he doesn't get fed up and want to transfer, because this whole downward spiral is probably harder on him than anyone else still playing.

Shoot if I lost my beast of a QB and was stuck with Matt Simms, I would be pretty upset. Talking to reporters would probably not be in my best interests. Da'Rick (or Dooley) is smart to realize that he isn't in the right mood to be interviewed

The media that covers UT is full of idiots. I wouldn't ever want to speak to them.

He frustrated BAD! Check that head shake the other night when Simms threw one of his horrible passes.

I don't see what the problem is. Why should we care if he speaks to the media or not. Dude's probably frustrated at the current state of our offense. Media silence in this circumstance is completely understandable and it's actually a pretty mature decision. There's countless guys in the NFL that could learn a thing or 2 from D.Rogers.

I think Da'Rick is better than Hunter but it really doesn't matter. They are teamates and will both be on the field at the same time when we win it all

Better not to speak to the media than to say something he might regret. I don't think it's a big deal whether or not he speaks. If he is disappointed in his situation or the state of the team, then it's best for the team to keep that under wrap.

I would guess that if a reporter asked him about Simms performance, he would answer the question honetly!!! The reporter may be happy with Rogers answer, but Dooley would not like it.

Being at the Georgia game, I noticed Da'rick was getting very frustrated with the way some of his team was playing, mainly the same players that we would get on here and rip on (ala Palardy missed kick). His tantrum was only calmed when a red-in-the-face Bray (who hadn't had the greatest night himself luck-wise) came over and told him to, and I quote "Calm the f*** down!". Da'rick is a competitor who knows what many of his teammates are capable of, knows that some players have to come through when things aren't going right, and just wants the best for his team. He'll come out and talk once things get back where they need to be. For now he's gonna work on wasting double coverages.

Were you standing close by or something? Not being a smart azz, just curious.
