Sounds like even more players will leave if we get calhoun. This includes Bray and Miller

Calhoun did at least just lose to TCU by three, and he killed Houston...with service academy players. It's not like he could even recruit kids to just be football players there.

Exactly, recruiting isn't exactly a priority at the service academies, you just make the most of what you get.. He would be a disaster trying to recruit nationally and compete with the rest of the SEC.

I guess Trooper's yearly Campaign for more money and job titles has started.

If this guy gets a interview Hamilton needs a drug test ASAP. I don't want to hear what he has done. I think one of the players has already said they would leave if they hire "that guy from Air Force" . He did not even know his name which is my point not big enough for UT. I am not saying he is not a good coach, I don't know that one way or the other.

Trooper is a joke. I bet the Alabama staff shows all the recruits considering Auburn the videos of Trooper calling the Auburn players Nig*ers during games just to show just what a joke he is.

But if a guy can win with whatever he's given, then he could learn to recruit. Plus, he was the OC at Wake, wasn't he? I'm sure he at least got his feet wet recruiting there.
The other coaches on this staff could help him there.

I see Calhoun as an 8 win win guy at a 8 win university. If he was winning 10 games at a 8 win university then it would be a different story. He might be the kind of coach that can do more with less.

I rarely post on this site or any for that matter but due to the overwhelming amount of moronic posts about Troy Calhoun bringing the triple option to Tennessee I find it pertinent to post his coaching resume...Please take note that in his various tenures, Air Force is the only one who runs an offense even resembling the triple option. Thus, he is fully capable of transitioning back to whatever style of offense he chooses to run...

2007: Head Coach, Air Force
2006: Offensive Coordinator/ Quarterbacks, Houston Texans
2005: Assistant to Head Coach, Denver Broncos
2004: Offensive Assistant/ Special Teams, Denver Broncos
2003: Defensive Assistant, Denver Broncos
2001-02: Offensive Coordinator/ Quarterbacks, Wake Forest
1997-2000: Offensive Coordinator/ Quarterbacks, Ohio University
1995-96: Quarterbacks, Ohio University
1993-94: Recruiting Coordinator/ JV Offensive Coordinator, Air Force
1989-90: Graduate Assistant, Air Force

Also I believe its a great idea to have 17-18 year old kids who have trouble choosing a university be instrumental in who we select as our next coach .... GOOD CALL:rolleyes:

Re Calhoun & AFA: if I'm not mistaken, Fisher DeBerry installed the triple option at AFA and for many years ran it with great success before he retired. As others have noted, Calhoun is not wedded to the option, but likely just went with the system that had worked at AFA.
